nothing like a 130+ mile an hour launch into trim brakes to bring it down to around 40 to do basically a helix and a few turns before limping into the final brakes. American ingenuity at it's best!

Wow, I was so psyched to see how ring racer would turn out, and now I am really disappointed. That is one of the worst roller coasters I have ever seen.
yeah, in fact I think I like the original idea better, which was launch up to 130 or whatever it is, keep the speed then basically do a 180 and head back to the station all at high speed, not really a coaster but sounded somewhat cool none the less. Then they wanted something more coaster like without spending the $$ to build something big enough to utilize the speed properly. They would have been better off ordering something from Intamin, Gerstlauer or Maurer Soehne, all of which are far more local to Germany, and all offer launched coasters, there is no point spending the $$ for the systems to get a train up to 130 go over like 100 feet of track then hit a row of trims then do something retarded. A well themed coaster with a nice layout and a launch of like 50 or so I think would be far more interesting than what they are getting, and probably a heck of a lot cheaper. Now it's just a blatant attempt to break the coaster speed record and nothing else.
I wish them good luck with the integrity their wheel bearings
Also just had an afterthought, I don't want to hear the argument that the reason behind the super fast launch just to hit brakes is to provide the feeling of speed for people, cause after all it is in Germany, where they have autobahns. A good number of people will have (legally) gone faster than 130 miles an hour just to get to the racetrack, as most of the autobahn in between cities, during daylight and clear weather, has no speed limit.

^They can still make it small without the trim breaks. They would just have to add long hills, and a big helix. Won't the trim breaks right after the launch break, or ruin the cars after a while?
Also, it IS themed after a race track, so they probably wanted to get it to act like a race track launch.
S&S is just building what their customer wants and I think they did a good job on the design.
The park is place with F1 racing (from what I've heard), so they wanted something to simulate that experience. What they should have done is had it launch to 130mph, then go into a series of helixes (maybe a double figure eight), kind of like test track.
Everything Fparker said, I agree with. Though I was surprised to see an element in the video, The launch track has stupid ****in trims on it. I was expecting that basic turnaround.
Btw, i could not find the thread to post this in.
so about this one.... This new concept with those seagull/eagle trains look odd. I looks like it could feel like an ali baba magic carpet ride with the "swooping" twists. It has potential. Hopefully its better than most think...like me.
