November 2, 2008 Best Trip Ever (DareDevil Dive)

Let us know how your day at the park was.

We got to the park around 1:30ish. My brother, his fiancee and me. he has weekend college classes so that is why we weren't there opening hour. We checked out the lines for Superman?Dark Knight and they were about 2 hours the guy said. So, I wanted a gold flash pass just to not have to miss the big guys and it was the end till 2009 so we headed to Hometown Square. Nice decor all around the park. Not very crowded but every coaster/ride had packed queues almost all day. BTW, a 3 people gold sent me back $152. It would have been like $110 in the summer. Ridiculous to increase prices during the last month. Weather was ok not too cold but I was freezing on Bull which was running 3 trains. Superman would have been perfect but the loading was s-l-o-w. Some kids who apparently got too scared to go during their turn asked if they could go right before the people in front of us. So, that wasted some time and they check the seats so slowly they need new people on Superman next year. So long to get on the ride itself even if you already in the station

I saw about 2-3 scare actors the whole day. We checked out Necropolis around 6ish when it started to drizzle. Nothing bad but it was slippery walking around. Necropolis was a good investment but we didn't know if those were haunted houses or not so we just passed by them and some people tried to freak us out though the beginning was probably the only "scary" part. My brother paid for my first DDD. It is so worth it even by yourself! So much fun and the coolest crew in the whole park. Those guys/girls are super cool and make it that much more apparent I will be going back on it next season. Worth every dollar ($35). All in all we checked out all flash pass rides except Head Banger. I didn't see any ride down so it was nice being there the final day and every ride was running. I wanted to go on King Chaos/Revolution but it was fairly packed and those are not flash passes so we decided it wasn't a waste of money.

Eagle was busy all day. Twice I wanted to go but it was crowded all the way by the stairs. Viper was almost full by the entrance. The Bull lines were barely moving by the end of the day. The Bull people had me trash my souvenir cup which is dumb since the bins are right there. Why does it bother them to leave it there. My brother bought 2 later for $3.99 each so it wasn't that bad. I wish there were more scare actors around just so I could see piggy and all but alas we were only impresses by the awesome decorations and the fountain monster was COOL. I got a new cup with the rides on it (Deja Vu too) and a season pass holder which goes around your neck. It was 15% off with my season pass. Less than 6 dollars. Buccaneer Battle had turf-like netting around it but other then that nothing else to see.

Great day all in all. DDD was the best decision I ever made. The best ride at the entire park. I wanted regular parking since it was the last day of the season. The water rides look so awful with the water around them completely drained. So sad I was really bummed about this being my last trip till next year. I really wish the park would stay open all year. Love you Six Flags! We left around 7ish so it was pretty decent in terms of ride options for a few hours. ADD EAGLE AND VIPER AS WELL AS SOME OF THE FLATS ON FLASH PASSES! WHAT A RIP-OFF!

I went to Six Flags and got a souvenir cup for $1.07. I felt like I was stealing it because I used the 3 dollar off coupon in the book, I thought it wouldn't work. Good thing you had fun though!

I forgot about that! I told my brother that but ended up putting my coupon book away so I forgot. They obviously wanted to get rid of them to make room for 2009 items so you didn't "steal" anything. They could have had better sales on items in the gift shops like sweaters $34.99 is a bit high I would think they should have kept it under 30 ($29.99) at least to really make it seem like prices were lower on everything since this was the last day. Most of those items did not even get moved so wouldn't it make more sense to make some money then have to carry the stuff over to 2009?

I think many of the clothing items (t-shirts, sweatshirts, ect.) carry over to the next season but don't quote me on that one.

Anyhow...good to know you enjoyed the last day of the season :D
