That looks like something you'd see in a 3'rd world country from a manufacturer such as PAX.

Also that trim on the first drop (entire rollover has a brake fin), just speaks loads about the designers of the ride.

And if that trim doesn't speak to you, maybe that following turn will. a good old fashioned Shockwave turn, but now with rock solid OTSR's (well those S&S finger type things), that is if you're awake after going through it.

I'm glad to see the trackwork finished so quickly after it started. I agree with FParker that turn looks Shockwave-esqe, but the rest of the ride looks like a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to it.

Been waiting for it to open before I make my visit this year, hopefully it will be open by the end of the month.

Although it looks like hella fun. That is one of the most interesting coaster layouts I have EVER seen.

But yeah that sloping heartline looks really cool. 8)

I can't get over how flimsy the ride looks. I'm sure it'll be great though...

No, there's third inversion besides the drop. Look in the rendering, there's another inline twist leading to another turn they probably didn't add to the real thing yet. I just found that out while looking at the pic :)

I recently emailed the park, and they responded with this:

Hi David,

We are waiting on the State of Indiana to inspect the ride. At this time opening is scheduled for July 4th.

Thank you,

Just thought this might be of interest to some of you who are planning trips out there.

As for me, I'll be there, likely the 6th or 7th, so I'll be sure to give an update as to how the ride itself is.

Excuse my double post, but I feel it is a worthy cause, due to the fact that I just got back from a trip to IB. Yes, Steel Hawg was open, with about a 5-10 minute wait all day. It was pretty good, but it didn't quite live up to my hopes for it, mostly because it was VERY short. I will upload pictures later tonight for those who would like to see them.

There ya'll go, for those who are interested. And yes, Hoosier Hurricane was running, good as ever.

As I said before, the ride is incredibly short, literally just 3 real elements and then it's over. However, the final stretch (forgive me for not being up to date on the coaster lingo) was nifty. It was like a zero-g roll downhill.

Oh, and the capacity is a nightmare. They never came even close to having more than one car running at a time... Although I suppose for IB, capacity isn't too big of an issue.

As far as the restraints go, the lapbars were much like skyhawk's from CP, and then there were shoulder harnesses that get pushed down to your height. In my opinion, it felt kinda cool not having a full OTSR in front of you
