I am currently planning a 3 week and one day trip to Europe again for 2009. I noticed from my trip reports that there was a lot of interest in costs and the planning process. I'm not to far into the planning process so I was thinking that if people are interested in what goes into planning a trip of this nature, I can post some stuff about how i plan and what not, in case anyone is planning on doing their own large trips in the future, and what seems to be the best way to do it, at least that I can come up with.
So if anyone is interested, let me know and I can post or PM the stuff I do for this.
Also, anyone who is 18+(NO EXCEPTIONS), can have 4 grand in cash in their hands within the next year, and has interest in doing a huge trip, PM me, I currently have an odd number of people.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Can't afford it, however good luck with it and I have a few parks you could go to that you haven't already.
Parque Warner Madrid
PortAventura
Parc Asterix
Disneyland Paris
Liseberg
Tusenfryd
Erlebnispark Tripsdrill
New Pleasureland Southport
Gardaland
Mirabilandia
Djurs Sommerland
Fårup Sommerland
Tivoli Gardens
I can't wait to hear where you're going so I can put it on my personal Park Count of You.
Just curious, how can you afford these trips? You must make At least a Million a year.
One last thing Mr. Parker, I would reccomend that in 2010 to go to Asia. China, Japan, and South Korea all have some good parks. Plus the New Rumored Paramount Park would be opened.
Tripsdrill is on my schedule, and I'm staying mostly in Belgium, Holland, Germany and Austria again. Spain is a bit far, Parc Asterix left a bad taste in my mouth from my last visit in 01, rest is either in acessable or just plain old cant fit it in. So far I got
Wiener Prater
Fort Fun
CentrO Park
Phantasialand
Europa Park (2 days)
Bobbejaanland
former Six Flags Holland
former Six Flags Belgium
Hansa Park
Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten
Erlebnispark Strasswalchen
Skyline Park
MoviePark
Erlebnispark Tripsdrill
Holiday Park-Hassloch
Toverland (NL)
then for fairs..
Dusseldorf
Foire Du Midi (Belgium)
Tillburg (Netherlands)
Düren - Annakirmes(Germany)
Herne - Crangerkirmes (Germany)
Aachen - Sommerbend (Germany)
Hamburger Somerdom (Germany)
and a German-American Festival in Berlin, apparantly replicating parts of Los Angeles and they have American food and beer and it's promoted by a Mr. Richard Simmons, sounds so much like a Joke, I just have to see it

You're going to go to more parks and fairs in 1 year than I have gone in almost 5 years. Man, I need to get a job.
I am still suggesting that you go to Asia in 2012. They have alot of good coasters like:
B&M Superman clone at Happy Valley in Beijing
Tokyo DisneySeas
Fuji-Q Highland with a 4D Coaster and a 107mph coaster
Intamin Water Coaster at Lotte World
B&M Junior Hyper at Universal Studios Japan
Chimelong Paradise
A Nearly 184ft Intamin Plug and Play Wooden Coaster at Everland
Universal Studios South Korea in 2012
MGM South Korea Park in 2011
Paramount Park South Korea in 2009
my next trip after this will be either Scandinavia or more likely the Far East, probably be in the 2012-2014 timeframe. Possibly with an organized trip such as ACE, ECO or one of Robb's trips.
One downside of these huge intercontinental trips is the time in between trips is pretty slow, bascially between now and this trip I'll be lucky to get to Coney Island Astroland in what will probably be it's last year and Holiwood Nights.

Everything that is Denmark was supposed to be Spain up until about a week ago, so I'm still figuring some stuff out. Will be myself and one other person going. Also the trip starts out in London, that is dependent on who offers the cheapest airfare, as long as I've been checking airfares it's been Virgin Atlantic so a day in London is basically free, if it's someone else, that's getting cut from the schedule.
Costs go as such for 2 people (all costs are per person)
Euro Costs:
Park Admissions: €635
Hotel (fig on €25 a night at 30 nights)(€750 total) = €375
Food= (€15 a day) €450
Total so far= €1460 ($2190 @ €1=$1.50)
Total Costs:
Euro Costs: $2190
Car: $650
Air: approx$900
Gas: $400 per person at 5300 miles driven in a car that gets 40mpg at $6 a gallon, though milages and cost is probably low and mpg is high.
Grand Total per person: $4140, plus a few missing park admissions, Prater, Fairs, Amsterdam Sightseeing and about $300 in the 2 bridge tolls and ferry. Figure on $5000 covering it all.
