Alevy got owned by Shapiro... He was given a golden opportunity to show he's got some credibility in the Coaster community and failed to use it.

its cool and all, but they are basically acting like its a new roller coaster. Its like saying "Hi, I am wearing a different shirt today, everyone hug me".

I really like the paint job, it looks nice. The tunnels they will put on the track look... retarded. Either way its still something I am looking forward to.

I think it looks a lot nicer, and perhaps more thrilling. Those old colors were an interesting choice...

I'm confused. What should he have done?

"credibility in the Coaster community"....what the hell?

X2 looks great though.

I noticed the station looks the same though, I figured they were going to modify it so the floor drops down and it could dispatch quicker. Rather then the slow tilting of the seats.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's nearly finished, it's only done with the painting...which i would argue is only a little more than half the battle. I'd like to see these tunnels come up with some effects.

And i thought Rob did a great job with the interview considering. I thought Shapiro came off as defensive to some questions and i think he was kind of caught in that. Like when Rob was talking about the great improvements and Shapiro made the smart ass comment about the Tilt-a-Whirl, I was kind of frustrated with that joke, which i think Rob played off well. I also think it's impossible to have a respectable interview when the person being interviewed is clearly eating something and answering like a New Yorker at a Yankees game calling the hot dog guy.

Overall, i think the idea of the transformation of the ride is a new one, and while don't like the tunnels, i think when lit up, they'll bring a unique view to the ride. They are sort of artsy in their appeal, less done by the book than most are used to. Having just gotten back from Vegas, it looks like they got their inspiration from Fremont street. :)

^I noticed that he was eating something too. I thought that was a little unprofessional.

Did S&S make X2's new trains?

Yep, new trains are S&S

The new trains are somewhere in the range of 8,000-10,000 lbs lighter than the old ones, will reduce stress on both the trains and track, also they reduced the number of welds on the train by a heck of a lot.

Also as part of this conversion, they are redoing the station for one stop loading, rather than pull into unload, tilt the seats up, unload the train, tilt the seats back, move the train to load position, tilt the seats again, load, tilt the seats back and dispatch. Will save a lot of time I'm told (never seen X in person, but that was the procedure apparently)

Also, I thought the interview was pretty good. You cant just jump in with Robert Shapiro and ask a bunch of questions he cant answer, like what is the next ride? or Why do your parks suck?, etc. I personally like what he had to say and hopefully it's not all hyperbole.

^How was S&S able to make the trains THAT much lighter than before? Could Arrow have done that when they origianally installed the coaster?

I'm assuming Arrow didnt think it'd be an issue. But if you search TPR you can find pics of the old and new trains, and there is a huge difference between old and new.

Also in addition to being made in the USA, I think Arrow rushed the project though to try and avoid bankruptcy which failed miserably.

Quick question. If I ride X2 this summer, can I claim credit for both X and X2? Just askin'?

Also, this looks like a really good redo of the ride!

^no x and x2 are counted as 1 credit. If you rode X before then rode X2 you could count it as two...but otherwise its only the 1 X credit.

it will only count towards X2. Its basically saying the ride "X" no longer exists.

Dude, its the same roller coaster with an added tunnel. Are we really in that much need of a credit?
