Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom parking information

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

As the coasting season is slowly starting up around the US, some of you might decide to head to SFKK for a day of fun. If you do, I want to bring up how they're handling the parking fee.

If you have a Six Flags season pass that has parking printed on it, you initially still have to pay the $5 fee to enter the expo center/SFKK parking lot. However, when you pay the parking attendant $5, make sure you ask for a receipt! When arriving at the park entrance, show your parking receipt and six flags season pass (with parking) to whoever is working in guest relations, and right there and then guest relations is supposed to refund you back your $5 parking fee. If they've never heard of this, or tell you that you need to go about getting your refund in another manner, politely ask them to get ahold of a supervisor/full-timer, as they all know that this is the park's new policy - that is, until they get their own parking lot (see http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070325/NEWS01/703250470/1008/NEWS01 , 3rd to last pagarph, to see that this will most likely occurring sooner than later).

Also, for those of you traveling to SFKK to buy a season pass, it's worth noting that you can't get parking put on your SFKK season pass as they don't offer that season pass upgrade.

I had mentioned this info before in a post many months ago, but w/ SFKK opening up, some of you might find this information handy if you decide to travel there. :)

That article says 1.4 million for drainage work and more than 600 parking spaces related to a new entrance off Phillips Lane for Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Six Flags would pay for the entryway and signs not their own parking lot. SF doesn't own the land so no parking lot can be built by them.

Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

I talked to the General Manager of SFKK last year and I can't remember exactly what he said, but he mentioned that they would like to move the park entrance to the other side of the park (near the theatre probably) and have their own parking lot on that side.
