Nice picture, that's funny. Was that second person someone you were trying to make fun of or just making a clever and harmless joke? I think a 3 day suspension is harsh, maybe just a detention would have been sufficient.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Or maybe just a hey, thats not nice...lol, but not a suspension...I too have been suspended for rather ridiculous things. I think its kinda dumb how controlling teachers are...coming from a kid of course, so dont be dumb and flame.
We've made pictures like this before and he's laughed along with us...I don't get why he suddenly flipped.
And to RBull4life...yes, suspended for three days.
Is the "he" you are refering to the kid in the picture?! Cause if that's the case, and he complained to a teacher for being teased, that might be a standard procedure your school has to follow...kind of like a standard "bullying" punishment.
However, if by he you mean a teacher, and that picture is a buddy of yours, that's a ridiculous punishment. And if this is the case, you should ask why they are only punishing for a homosexual related picture and not anything else...that will make them a little nervous.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Wait, you got suspended from school? What the hell?
I would called the teacher homophobic.
Teacher: This is offensive!
Me: What? Homosexuality?
Teacher: No...that you implied another student is gay is bullying!
Me: So if I implied a gay student was straight, what would that be?
Teacher:...God damn it, just go to the office!
But then again, I'm a smartass.

See...I'm pretty sure that if I put a girl instead of a guy in that picture, this wouldn't be a problem.
Here's how this originally came about.
Before classes even started, people knew about the picture and everything. Class started and we find out our teachers iPod was stolen.
This meant the Deans would be calling kids down about the iPod. But, about half the kids that went down, thought they were gettig called down for this picture. Dean's go along with it, call me down, suspend me.
Basically the kid in the picture had no say in what happened to me. When I was leaving the deans office, he just got a pass to go to the deans so he can find out what my punishment actually was.
I talked to him last night and apparantley he didn't want me in trouble for this at all. He just didn't like the picture at first, so I stopped showing it that same class.
So they give me this suspension so the kid can feel I was "justifed" but he didn't even really want me to be justified.
Demon Boy...my school leaves it up to the teachers if they accept my work or not. They don't have to, but they can if they feel you deserve it.
i don't think that picture deserves a three day suspension. It may be a bit offensive to the teacher, but I think a detention would have been fine for it.

Seriously. I love how since most public schools have become cesspools deans have to enforce this "zero tolerance" policy to try to make a more "safer" learning environment. A quick 5 minute talk between the dean, you, and that kid, would have been all there was. Hell, even a detention would have been a little harsh. But now the school has a knee jerk reaction and have to make an example out of you.
I don't know what kind of student you are, but if you were a good one, I'd be pissed for them even considering a suspension. How did your parents react to this?

Well...this was my first time ever really having a conflict with the deans.
This was my first time even in that office!
My mom was in tears at first but when we got to the car she realized how stupid this really was.
My dad is calling the dean and he's gunna try and get me back in there tommorow. I've made him aware of the fact that there have been fights in our school, and kids have been let off with a saturday detention.
And just got off the phone with my dad.
He's tried calling the Dean a good four times today...and she still hasn't called back.
Fights? Oh that's just two kids letting out anger even though someone could be seriously hurt.
High school kids being immature and joking about a sexual preference differ than theirs? THE NERVE OF THEM!
The fun part is that the dean thinks this is gonig to teach kids a lesson. It won't, kids now know to be more sneaky about pics/jokes/whatever about it next time. Way to go, public school.
Yes because that's why my post was left unedited, right?
There's nothing wrong with what I said. Did I say say gay in a negative way? No, I didn't say "faggot" or "queer" or "homo" or anything that would seem completely offensive either. I was making a point about how stupid being suspended for crap like that was.
Please remind yourself what made you find my post out-of-line and reread my post then. Actually assume that because I use the word gay and the prefix homo as a neutral party instead of a 6th grader trying to get a cheap laugh.
Thanks.
