Magic Springs August 26th

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on August 27th, 2006, 3:17 pm
We went downtown a few times down in Arkansas and actually found great discount tickets at a shop to Magic Springs. So we ended up paying $25 for each ticket instead of $40. We got there a little before 12. We had to go ride X Coaster first, in case anything happened, and I'm glad we did. Once we got in line, it got stuck, tested twice, and had a 20 minute break down. So we waited around 25 minutes and when it was back up, we got right on in the front row since everyone else had left. I got a little nervous when the car started going upward, but once we were upside down, I was already having a good time, because the view upside down is amazing. It was a pretty awesome ride. I wish we would have rode it a few more times but I wanted to ride every coaster in the park first...

Then we went on the Wild Thang cause I had to try it out. It was cool, gave me a bit of a headache and a little queasy, but still cool. Next we went on Big Bad John. This was a pretty neat ride, best part had to be the tunnel which I was not expecting. A bit on the rough side but not bad. Next was Diamond Mine Run, which was a 5 minute wait. Average kiddie coaster, it was neat.

We went by Twist N Shout, but it was stuck on the lift and they started letting people out of the car. We headed to the Gauntlet, and went in 2nd row. This is pretty much the same as Thunderhawk at GL, not too rough. I'd hate to go on the really rough SLC's. Then, we went on Twist N Shout because it was open and we got right on. It was fun, but it hurts on those tight turns, worse than RC at SFGAm.

Then, we went to the way other side of the park, to Arkansas Twister. We went in front row first which was only a 1 train wait. I expected it to be rough, but it actually wasn't that bad. I really enjoyed this coaster. They let us reride, so we switched rows and rode it 3 more times. Front is definitely the smoothest, and we never went in back because I refused to. We stayed in the first 6 rows. Some parts are shaky, but it's really enjoyable especially if you're in the front.

After AT we had some lunch, where we had a view of X Coaster testing. At one point when it tested, it completely reminded me of a miscatch on Deja Vu... because that's pretty much what it did. Looked like it wasn't going to be open for a while. We were walking towards the Gauntlet, when we heard a random, somewhat loud rumble of thunder. I figured a storm was going to start, but it was the only thunder we heard all day. After riding Gauntlet, we went by X Coaster to see if it would open. Nothing was really going on, so we went on Dr. Deans Rocket, a drop ride right next to the entrance to X Coaster. It was fun.

Then we rode Twist N Shout again. We really wanted to ride X Coaster a bunch of times, but since it was closed there was really nothing to do... We gave up hope on X Coaster, it really didn't seem like it was gonna open for the rest of the day, and I was pretty upset about that. At least we got on it. We went on Gauntlet again, this time in front. I really like this ride in the front.

Then headed to Arkansas Twister, and rode that twice. This is one of my favorite woodies. Then, we got some Dippin Dots since we needed to sit for a while from all the hills and the heat. Then, we rode Hawk. I actually thought this ride would make me sick, but it didn't and I enjoyed it. Around this time we went into a candy shop, and bought 2 things of candy and a Gatorade.. The total was only 5.70 and we wondered why it was so cheap... this morning when we got home we found out that the cashier only counted 1 bag of candy, so we pretty much got 1 for free.

We went in front row on Gauntlet again, good ride. It was nearly 6, the time we were getting picked up, so we ran to Arkansas Twister for one last ride. We got in 2nd row, and we ended up getting stuck in the station for about 5 minutes. Not really sure what happened. There was a line to exit the park! Most of the people were coming from the water park.

Overall, it was an okay day. It was fun, disappointing, annoying, somewhat boring, all at the same time. It would've been nicer if it wasn't so damn hot, and if X Coaster wasn't being a Deja Vu. This park could do a bit better in my opinion. Then again, we didn't go to the water park so that also made it less fun.

X Coaster - 1
Arkansas Twister - 7
Gauntlet - 4
Twist N Shout - 2
Wild Thang - 1
Hawk - 1
Big Bad John - 1
Diamond Mine Run - 1
Dr. Deans Rocket - 1
Total - 19

Do you remember exactly where you got those at? I am heading there in a week+ and cheap tickets would be nice. :)

Cool, sounds like you had a good time! I was kind of waiting to see what was going on with this X-Coaster since it was so unique and it kind of disappeared from the spotlight this year. Too bad you couldn't have ridden it again. However, sounds like you enjoyed yourself nonetheless.

Nice trip report. But actually, I didn't even read it. Sorry, but it's too long for me to read. lol. I'm lazy and hate reading. Sorry though, because I've made an even longer one than this before.

It is on Central Avenue downtown, and the shop is Susie's Corner Gifts, I believe. Can't say what's next to it because I don't fully remember.
