The 2nd Demon

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Demonfan101 on July 25th, 2006, 12:28 am
There is an identical twin Demon at Paramount's Great America, and it has all the special effects and other stuff running, why can't they do that with SFGAm's Demon? We deserve a cool ride too.
Demon is the coolest ride i've ever been on

PGA's Demon has lost even more effects than SFGAm has. They've lost:

Rocks around the loops
Demon Song
Original Demon sign (Gurnee still has most of it, the rest is buried)
Sound effects in tunnel (they've changed)
Waterfall near corkscrews
Corkscrew viewing area
Lighted Tunnel after the loops (the lights are removed)
The first drop was reprofiled

demons fine here....our drop is better too. however the waterfall running would be nice. At least ours is still there.

& have you seen the rock formations they have...theyre grey and concrete lookin...ours look nice and blend very well into southwest on the other side...

I think our Demon theming is still decent, but we have lost a lot of it.

i wish they still had the fire on top of the letters on the sign...well i wish the sign was the way it used to be. and ya know what else, after fright fest last year they've made demon more like it used to be like the music and the fire painted on operator building

i think demon looks fine. There might not be all the big stuff working, like the waterfall or anything, but during fright fest, that ride looks great!

Part of the sign wasnt burried.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

The REALLY old sign that had the big drain pipe was partially buried. The drain pipe itself was removed though.

^why?
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

Part of Six Flags "toning down" the ride because of complaints that the ride was too devilish.

Well, there are a couple of things they could do with Demon that would enhance the experience, but ultimately it still looks really good in terms of theming and such. The waterfall definitely needs to be turned on again and the first tunnel out of the station needs something new, but other than that, i'm very satisfied with what we have.

The waterfall is done for good because it damages the rock structure.
