blackout on batman??

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Energizer Bunny on July 13th, 2006, 10:13 am
when i was last at sfgam i rode batman and both me and my friend had blackout/ greyout experiences during the loop and wing overs. i've heard of this before on inverted coasters like raptor. but has anyone else had this happen? i've ridden batman countless time and it's never happened before. can i blame it on dehydration or lack of sleep?? does anyone know what's the deal? isn't it caused by a quick lack of oxygen to the brain or is it more force related? :?
i want my triple play back

It happends all the time on Batman now. It didn't before but ever since they painted it yellow its been happening to me. It used to happen around the 2nd and 3rd loops on Shockwave too.

Something similar could have happened due to dehydration, but it was most likely the forces.

It's never happened to me on Batman, but the bottom of the pretzel loop on S:UF makes me black out for a second.

I blacked out on batman recently (and it was my first time too on that ride). But that day it was rather hot and we kept reriding batman, so yeah dehydration is a factor in causing blackouts on that ride.

Earlier that same day I blacked out on the loop on Deja Vu after a retraction on the 2nd tower. So yeah.

Almost always, to me.

Goliath at SFMM is where it's most notable. That's intense.

It might depend what seat you were in because I have riden the back row once and it was pretty rough.

I gray out on the bottom of the first look on Batman almost every time, and on the first turnaround on Iron Wolf almost everytime, if I don't gray out then the ride really sucks and is slower than normal.

Just yesterday, I blacked (What's the difference between black, and grey??) out on Deja Vu. I don't black out on Batman that much. However, if I do, it would be at the end of the first loop to the zero-g roll.

Isn't grey out when you almost black out, and you see a greyish color?

Ive never had any problems like that on our Btman ride or any other Batman ride at any other SF park.
The only ride i felt this cmoing on was Goliath at SFMM, other than that rude i havent had any blackout/gryout problems.

When I ride it in the back row, I do get this tunnel vision dealio, but I don't think I black out. Every other row I'm fine.

I grayed out today on both Iron Wolf and Batman today. This is the first time it has happened to me. Also note, I was in the last row of each ride.

I see purple spots on Batman. I think it has to do with the new color and the sun.

It is common to black out on Batman because going through the first vertical loop is a lot of cummulative G-force on your body, then going into the 0-G roll will usually help you recover from the black out because it neglects the previous G's on your body and allows you to regain full consciousness. It is somewhat of that process. Some people can take more G-forces than other, but all the rides are safe for all people, except those with the warning problems, like heart and back problems.
