There have been some structural issues with the Demon waterfall rock structure. The framework can no longer hold the weight that the water creates. A pool inside of the structure is needed to create the even waterflow to make the waterfall look right. Reinforcing the structure was not a viable option. That and the constant water was found to be severely corroding the coaster track under it.

So there were two choices. Either turn on the waterfall and lose the whole structure in a year or two, or cut the water and save the rest of the rock structure. We all know that if it were to collapse and need to be torn down, it would probably not be rebuilt.

So we get to keep the theming, sans waterfall.

The Demon really needs some help. The ride runs great for a 30 yr. old Arrow but it's starting to show its age. The waterfall is turned off, the rocks are rotting away, the light tunnel is having issues (remember it was turned off for awhile early this season) the trains are looking worn out and the track is about ready for some paint. I really hope someday the park fixes it up so it looks just like new, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Yea but some places on the rails look really worn. It's much better than before 2004.

Alrighty here.

As long as it runs...nothing will really be done to keep it up.

I don't get what you mean by the trains are beat up and the track needs yet ANOTHER coat of paint.

Chances are if the lights were turned off thats because they were fixing them.

She runs fine and looks good. That's all that matters to management.

Pretty much. Money is tight right now. Repairs to a waterfall are low on a list of priorities. Hopefully next year when capital improvment monies are not tied up in building roller coasters we can see some improvments.

Demon needs some help, but not really a paint job on the ride tracks. The rails need to be painted, but the rest of the scenery needs to be restored to get a great ride experience like you probably got years ago...

^Definatly. Demon was best when EVERYTHING was working right. It made it more than a ride but and expirence. They should also look into restoring the speakers or make it so it doesnt echo.

Demon's alright when it runs. And considering i've only seen it down once a whole day (last year whe they replaced the lift), it's alright a lot.

well the park stopped caring when SF was bought by Premeir, Time Warner kept themeing at SFGAm in pristene shape.

also, PGA ripped out all their rockwork from around there Demon once it detioriated, I'd expect SFGAm to do the same eventually. It wouldnt make sense to spend a load of $$$ putting new rockwork around a 30 year old coaster with waning popularity.
