Wow, I can't believe you guys hate EMO, it basically expresses how you feel, or atleast how I feel anyway. Do you hate me because I'm EMO. Thats how I am, and I can't change that. If I could I would.
Why do you have to be EMO to express how you feel?
I hate EMO - Look I expressed myself.

Ya, I like Emo. He is a pretty good comedian at times, though he talks funny. I really like this one joke he tells, "I was the kid next door's imaginary friend" He's been on Mancow alot lately, and I have even thought about seeing him perform. He was really popular at............................................................... Oh wait, I thought you were talking about Emo Phillips.
Sorry.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
okay for the people that dont like emo, why r u even in this topic? i dont really think theres much sense in just puting them down even more. I would be swearing by now just for the heads up. We get it u dont like emos and nobody really cares so get over it and leave.
Yea, well this is a topic and in a topic, people usually voice their opinions or share information with others. As for putting them down even more, they shouldn't be down in the first place.

Aww c'mon cheer up EMO kid.
The topic is about EMO in general which allows for both sides of the topic to be discussed. It can't just be a "hooray for EMO" topic. Of course this does bring up a philosophical question.
If a bunch of EMO kids post about how great EMO is, and it accidently cheers one of them up, then are they really EMO anymore?
Kind of like that whole tree in the wodds thing ain't it?
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
Wow, ok, first things first, there will always be cliques. When I was in school, emo wasn't cool. It was either cool to be "preppy" or "freaky". And that was it. If you weren't in those groups you were a nerd, or an artist, but artists usally fell in the group of freaks depending on what kind of freak they were. I tried to be a freak for awhile, I wore lots of bracelets and black clothes. Eventually by 12th grade I gave up and decided I didn't need to conform to anyone's image of cool but my own and dressed how I wanted to. So that's all.
My point is...if you feel the need to dress like other people, but still be different, go ahead, you'll probably just wise up and live for yourself, or keep doing what you're doing.
Please don't lump Neutral Milk Hotel in with the standard emo scene crap.
If you sincerely like emo, go listen to the song "Art is Hard" by Cursive. While the song was written about indie bands, I think it apply's just as well to emo bands.
I work with a bunch of emo kids. And I obviously see them at school. I have this problem, where emo kids always strike up conversations with me. At school, I had two hour and a half breaks. And I always had emo kids talking to me. And at work emo girls are always asking me to go to some shitty local show. I get very self conscience, I can't help but feel I'm giving off an emo vibe. And that thought scares the hell out of me.
It may have something to do with the fact that I have blue hair. But aside from that, I have no "emo style" if you will.

Down here they walk around with these giant pants with like 100000 little buttons and keychain rings hanging from them with these pointless X things that connect to either side of the pants. My advise to you, start listening to techno music and drink smoothies, you might turn out okay....
