Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Six Flags Great Adventure gave away 45,000 free tickets for opening weekend. Starting today, you could get your tickets, but they're all gone now. And, Ron Severt Is SFGAdv's New GM also. I hope To God they dont do that for SFGAm's opening day. If so, Ill just have to go the weekend after.

I beleive this coinsides with their 45th Anniversary Celebration.

If SFGAm follow suit we sould only be giving away 30,000 tickets!

It's the 45th Anniversary of Six Flags as a whole, so every park is celebrating the 45th.

Have a happy anniversary at Six Flags!

Doesn't the 45th Anniversary seem odd to celebrate? I would think 50th Anniversary would be alittle more of a fit.

I don't like this idea. I think giving away tickets is nice, but that many would make the park WAY too crowded. I was there that day where Raging Bull's line was two and a half hours long and they told people that the park was heavily crowded because they had 46,000. There would be that many people for free, plus those who pay. Not good in my opinion.

It wasnt for just one day, it was split equally among the three opening days, 15,000 tickets, each marked with a specific day.

Well, that isn't as bad, I thought it was for the opening day and I think that would ruin opening day to have that many people in the park.

Yeah, if that happened at GAM I wouldn't be happy. I like my park clean and empty.

It would be nice for them to do this at Great America this year. Good way to possibly boost attendance early in the season. Plus all those people might have gotten in for free, but just make sure all the games, food stands, and vending machines are on and you will still make some money off them. But most importantly, you're showing people a good time, and perhaps they will come back for more. :o

^It would also be nice for the families who are less fortunate and can't afford to go every year.
