It is time for the second annual Coasters After Dark events! (Day two)
IF your going post here.
IF your NOT going...why post??
However if you aren't going but went last year...feel free to share a memory from the first annual Coasters After Dark. For example: I think it was the first one in June when it stayed so humid and hot until midnight that no matter what station you were in you were sweating all night. The worst was Viper
I'm really looking forward to CAD's and thanks SF for making passes even sweeter this year.

I was at the 1st one last year. I had to work the last two and unable to go.
Memories of last year:
* I found a love for the Viper. It is much better in the dark
* Getting eaten alive by Mosquitoes in line for Superman. This year I will not forget the bug spray.
* Batman + night = WOW
* V2 front row... I can see stars.
* Eagle - The view is great.
* Demon - Black track... I love a black track at night. The tunnel of lights is amazing also.
I am going, not sure what time I will get there. I am going to Arlington that day for a company outing. My goal is to ride Superman, Batman, Eagle, Deja Vu, Demon, and finish the night with Viper. If I get those 6 rides in I will be very happy.

Im going, however, im praying that the events of last year dont happen again this year.. What i mean is, Lots of people will show up 2 hours or the 30 min before park closes, just for coasters after dark. Which ruins it
I think they need to do some kinda Ticket think, were you take your ticket to season pass processing and get a General Admission Coasters After Dark Ticket....which can only be purchased say up until 2pm. Forcing guests with passes to spend MORE time there... and that ticket you get. is the only ticket youi can use to get on rides

Umm, I bought a season pass, why can't I show up for the end of the night? I do work during the days and it isn't always possible to spend the entire day there.
And how do the people who show up at the last min. ruin things?
i'm going at least to the first one this year, i'm not sure about the other two. I went to the last one last year, and i remember waiting in line for Vu for 45 minutes and then being told that it would be closing for the rest of the night. I remember being so angry that I almost didn't want to go on anything else. I also remember getting a discount on something at the Viper Nachos, and getting there right before we were supposed to be in because i had to work all day. At least this one is on friday, no work that day!
I'll be going for my first CAD event, and am planning to make an entire day out of it. I believe all three of last year's events were on Wednesdays? It'll be interesting to see how much of a crowd turns out for this event. Otherwise, it should still be a lot of fun.
I'll be at Timbers Fest, and I'll only go to the other ones if it's raining. If it doesn't rain then I'll go the day before or the day after. Last year we had a non-passholder with us and she just used an old pass that was someone elses.
I don't get why everyone thinks it's so great. You can ride the coasters in the dark everyday in the summer from 8:30-10:00. And the lines usually are pretty bad at the CAD events if I remember correctly.
I agree CAD would be awesome....I'm not a season pass holder =( but I think most of the coasters are pretty wild late at night....you just don't get the same effect (spelling) during the day...that's my favorite time to ride - at night.
I may go, but since the lines are the same doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of ERT? I mean, can you even tell the park is closed to season pass holders, or does it just feel as if the park is open for another couple hours with the same crowds?
1. Voyage
2. X
3. Millenium Force
4. Top Thrill Dragster
5. Raging Bull
Coasters after dark on a Friday night, man it's gonna be more crowded than it was last year. Looks like I'll be sticking on Eagle and Iron Wolf all night.
