RE: "edit" button

I am making a professional request to remove the edit button. I find it very annoying when people post something, then change what they've originally posted. In a regular conversation, you can't take back what you've said, so it should be in forums. Just like e-mail. Thank you for listening.

I think that is a good idea, except for maybe one minor change. Instead of never being able to edit your post, you should be able to edit it before the next post is made in that topic.

It seems as the more logical idea, for things like accidental double posts and spelling errors you don't catch before you hit submit.

I edit almost every one of my posts because I see spelling errors, stuff that doesn't make sense, or just want to add/delete stuff. So far, people editing their posts has not been much of a problem. I don't forsee Dave removing the edit button any time soon.

Geeze let's not be so petty here... sometimes you just want to change the wording of your post... no biggie. It should be available in my opinion. As someone else said... it's a message board. Calm down... you will be OK.

Perhaps, what mschulz said is a good idea. Or remove it completley so that people would just preview their posts instaed of posting and seeing something they missed. It would be good to remove it also so no-one completley changes what they say and make the next poster look like an idiot.

I know, thanks for stating the obvious (I love it when people do that and think they're so smart), and that's why you're so happy. Punkbunny, I'm not being petty. (Although I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that.) There is a Preview button available.
