Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I like that new cycle a lot more. It's awesome how it does a bunch of those full loops. I also think that the old cycle was little too bland.

I really enjoyed the new ride cycles on both rides. Kinda makes them feel new again. I wounder how many different cycles do these rides have?

King Chaos can have many different cycles you can even put it in manual mode where the operator uses a joystick to control the ride.

Besides the joystick, for those unskilled or in SFGAm's case unprivileged Ride op's it comes with 10 preset programs (9 of which people can ride and one test, that SFGAdv has run for events in the past)
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder
Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping
Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073

The ride operators cannot use a joystick, it is not located anywhere near where either operator is stationed. The program its running during FF is the program it opened with in 2004. Those are the only 2 ive seen run consistantly. The only people that can change the cycle are the parks ride control people.

Yep, as SFGAm07 said...it's the same one it opened with, and in my opinion it's worse then the one it usually runs. The normal cycle it runs you usually get at least 4 flips on it or more with a full load. The one it's running now during Fright Fest you only get 3 inversions and spend more then half the ride rocking back and forth doing nothing.

It's funny because back when it opened, people here complained about this program. Now that it's back...completely different reaction.

^But most of the people that were on here complaining about it then are probably not on the boards anymore...now a new batch of kids joined around this time and they probaly weren't tall enough, or too scared, to ride it when it opened

Also, I went on it Friday and we had a ride stop because some kid jumped a fence. We got 2 flips right after the gondola unlocked.

Reviews from King Chaos' opening day (with the program its running now).

In conclusion, King Chaos is decent at best, although I can't say I expected much different.

I figured out the reason why I kept riding it was because it left me wanting more, mainly cause it never delivered in the first place

I thought it was a joke... but its a old, portable HUSS Top Spin what can you expect. The view of Superman upside down is cool. But yeah whatever its a ride and at least it look awesome

I guess all we can do is hope that SFGAM finds a better program, because Top Spins do have the ability to kick some ass.

I hope that they find a good program that is fun, and have those water jets

I went on King Chaos today and to be fast I waited 50 minutes and I knew it was running a really short program but I waited because I hadn't been on a Top Spin before, and yeah they need a new program on it or its not worth anymore then a 10 minute wait.

That program is blatantly designed to have water jets, and once they get them running, the ridde will seem a lot more thrilling. Oh, and just so you know, YES, there are going to be water jets... you can see them in the lower part of the pool, by the gators.

IF they use the jets yes IF they do they won't use them until the ride is running better then it is now. It breaksdown WAY to often right now and the jets are just another thing that can make for more breakdowns.

...and so continues a 500 post discussion about water jets.

I like this new cycle so much more. When I went, I rode it twice, and it scared me this time, haha. Yeah, they could easily include water jets with this cycle. I think right now they won't because of the cold weather.

Overall though, I wouldn't want water jets. If I want to get wet, I would go on logger's run or something. Ya know?

Water jets are terrible on Top Spins in my opinion, I was extremely happy when King Chaos didnt get them. Nothing sucks more than getting water blasted in your face when your pinned down and cant move.

The jets/pumps are there and operable....all it would really take is someone to program them and start 'em up.......

I bet one of those quotations was from me. I wanted the water jets so badly 4 years ago. I can report after riding the Top Spin at Valleyfair and being soaked by them this summer that SFGAm made the right choice...
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro
Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2

They don't need to soak you, they can just be "close calls" and maybe just a "tiny" bit wet...almost mist. I have seen a few top spins do that and the effect is really cool.

Well that's a Huss Top Spin 2, however if King Chaos was set up properly it would be capable of doing that if manually run. I dont think you'd want to do exactly that though, that was filmed during a coaster event at a park, it runs nothing like that for the public.

And for other posts...

I meant using a joystick in general like the EuroFairs, I'd bet $ that SFGAm's no longer has a joystick anywhere computer room or otherwise.

And water jets properly used can add alot to the ride and it doesn't have to get riders wet. Riptide at VF! is marketed as a water attraction and it delivers as such, though if you sit at the very ends of the gondola you can stay completely dry. On colder days in Europe and even some other ones I've seen, they can operate the fountains so it comes within literally one inch of riders faces but never hits them (a skilled ride op that is)

People want change when the previous thing isn't that great. I think both cycles are bad. It pretends be a Zipper, but falls flat on it's face. The restraints are horrible on this ride. Dreamed of a Chance Chaos when it was announced King Chaos, but got a Top Spin. I will forget this ride until it goes upside a lot more.

See, I'm one who was upset that our version did not have the water jets working.

I visited Worlds of Fun in 2004, and loved their top spin. Water was going everywhere, and the ground in front of the ride was soaked. That of course was the same year that we got King Chaos. Needless to say, I was upset that we did not have the water jets working. I figured in 2004 our ride was new (for our park, as I know we got it used from another park), and they were still working on getting that part "working".

With the 2008 season coming to a close in a few weeks, it appears that SFGAm just does not what to run the ride in that manner. Its to bad too, as it does make for a fun ride.

Because then King Chaos will fall over. OR at least stress dramatically...

I am though very glad to see KC hold up well with this current cycle.

Wow Thats Intense. 107 spins is crazy! Were they going for a world record in this video?

You also have to remember, the spins you get will also be based on Weight Distribution.

If this is the CYCLE they used when it first opened, i remember we would get 4-5 spins every single time, and at its best, we got 6 spins out of it and it was amazing.
