I'm pretty sure the Whizzer is the last of it's kind. I don't really know how many were made, but I'm sure this is the last of its kind.

For any coaster enthusiast to want a ride to be torn down, especially a last of its kind like Whizzer, is just sickening. If you can't enjoy the ride just because it doesn't have loops or isn't 200 ft tall, then don't ride it.

I'd like the ride where it is right now. Sure, it isin't one of my favorite coasters, but it is always an enjoyable ride. Sure they could tear it down, and make a new family coaster, but to me, it just wouldn't be the same.No one is forcing you to ride it so I will say what others have been saying....If you don't like it...Don't Ride It :)

I agree with linebacker131.. If Whizzer goes down, we probably won't be seing a monster roller coaster go there. But, me and all of my friends are between 18 and 19 years old and we always make sure we take time out to ride the Whizzer 8)In response to ericleister's question, I believe there were four coasters of Whizzer's kind made:SFGAm-- WhizzerPGA-- Whizzer(removed)SFOT-- Big Bend(removed)CP-- Jumbo Jet (removed)**I think these are correct, does anyone else know??
Finally Coaster Season!!

There were four original Speedraces:-Ours, opened 1976-Paramount Great America's (Then Marriot's Great America's) Whizzer (Willard's Whizzer), closed in 1988-Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun. Operated from 1973 to 1997. Relocated to Parque Nacional Del Café as Montaña Rusa. Still in operation since 1999.-Big Bend at SFOT. Operated from 1971 to 1978. Relocated to SFSL. Was in storage from 1980 to 1989 or earlier. Sold for scrap metal. There were two other Speedracers, but the model was a little bit different than the first generations.-Aconcagua at Parque de la Ciudad. Still in operation since 1982.-Roller Coaster at Entertainment City. Stil in operation since 1984.Also check the links I gave for some information. The second one towards the bottom would be a good place to look.(BTW, Jumbo Jet? Obviously you don't know much about Schwarzkopf coasters. )

See, I told you that I wasn't sure! I guess I totally spaced out the Zambezi Zinger, and came up with Jumbo Jet instead! :)
