Season Pass Focus Group

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby mallclerks on October 20th, 2006, 4:03 pm
I just got this in my email, so I don't think it is a repost. Have they ever done one of these before, as I don't remember it if so?? Assuming I have saturday off work next week, which is highly unlikely, I would love to go, but being it is short notice and I doubt I have it off....

What email says:

Season Pass Focus Group
Where Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, Illinois)
When Saturday, October 28, 2006
• Adult Session 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
• Teen & Young Adult Session 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Why To find out your opinions in an honest and open forum regarding your 2006 Season Pass and the overall Season Pass program at Six Flags Great America.
How it Works We’re looking for a small group of people (approximately ten for each session) to share their thoughts and opinions about their Six Flags Season Pass and the perks and benefits associated with the program.

There will be one moderator leading a conversation in our VIP apartment (located inside Six Flags Great America, above the BUGS BUNNY and Company merchandise shop in Orleans Place).

There will be a session to talk with adults at 1:00 P.M. and another to talk with teen / young adults at 3:00 P.M. We are in the process of shaping our 2007 Season Pass program and are seeking your valuable insight.
Your Reward To thank you for your input and valuable time, you will be given four “THE FLASH Passes” and $40 worth of meal vouchers (total value $100), which you can use on Saturday, October 28 after the focus group or on Sunday, October 29, 2006.
To Sign Up 1. To join our focus group, please send an E-mail to the following address no later than 5 P.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006: sfgrmktg@sftp.com or click here.
2. In the subject line include the words “Focus Group”
3. In the body of the E-mail, please include:
• Your first & last name
• Your phone number
• Your age
• Your gender
• Your race
• The best time to reach you
• Your E-mail address
To Qualify 1. You must be a current 2006 Six Flags Great America Season Passholder.
2. You must be able to come to Six Flags Great America on Saturday, October 28, 2006. (Please bring your Season Pass so that you can enter the Six Flags main gate on October 28, 2006.)
3. You must be able to commit to the full 90 minute session.
4. If you plan to attend Fright Fest that day (the park is open to the public from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M.) with family and friends, they will not be allowed to join the session or sit in the room. You must be able to be separated from your party for the duration of the focus group and rejoin your party in the park upon the completion of the session.
5. You must be comfortable sharing your honest thoughts and opinions (positive or negative) about your Season Pass in a group environment.
6. For the adult session, you must be the key decision maker in the household when in comes to making your family’s entertainment plans (for example, you were the final decision maker in purchasing the Six Flags Season Pass, or you are the key decision maker in shaping your family’s vacation plans).
7. For the teen / young adult session, you must be between the ages of 16 & 21.
8. For the teen / young adult session, a parent or guardian will be allowed to accompany the Season Passholder (if needed), but will not be allowed in the session room during the focus group.
Next Steps If you qualify and we have room for you in the focus group, we will respond to you at the E-mail address you provided and follow up with you via telephone on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. At that time, you’ll be given specific directions to the VIP apartment and we will answer any preliminary questions you may have.

If you are not selected, we thank you for your interest. We plan to hold more focus groups in the future, so it is possible that you may hear from us again soon.

I got that same email today... It's about time sf recognizes that season pass holders opinions count. I want to do it so bad, but I'm going to Cedar Point next weekend.

Yeah I got that in my e-mail too. I want to go but I most likely won't considering I don't have a ride, and will not ask my dad for a ride (considering we are going to SFGAm the next day and he hates driving up there more than once in a week).

I wish i was off and could attend this session.
I think it is a great idea and hope they dont get just a bunch of fanboys to attend these meetings.

I just want to say that the really only two things I have problem with are the parking/parking pass, and the price to get in. I think that both of these are really high. When Cedar Point charges $40.00, and Great America charges $55.00, that's really huge.

I would say higher than $40.00, but less than $49.00. I almost guarantee you that they will talk about Deja Vu not being open when they are there. If Raging Bull was closed to low staffing, a lot of you would be whining to.

Remember, that only 20 people can go to this thing (10 people in a group). So, don't get your hopes up high.

^ Wait a minute, your complaining about $ 15.00!?!??!

Also, these meetings as supposed to be about your opinions on the value of a season pass. NOT a complain out session about staffing and rides and the like.

Well, I am fairly sure a focus group is for everything, an if your 'opinion' is that prices are way to high, that is what I assume they would like to hear. I doubt they want everyone to go into it claiming everything is perfect, since it is not the truth.

I am also fairly sure, though I have never been to a focus group before, that they will lead the questions, you provide the answers. They may have a part of it be open, but I would assume they have a nice list of questions to ask already picked out.

I got an email about taking a survey relating to the season pass and whatnot. It offered a $15 gift certificate from target for my time. Did anyone else get this email? Do you think it's legit?

Yea, I got the same Survey. As you can see Six Flags is trying to get people opinions about the parks. To see what areas they need to work on the most and what areas they can leave the way it is.

I recieved an email today telling me I was selected to join the group and telling me that I will receive a phone call tomorrow.

Pretty cool, four Flash Passes and $40 in food vouchers. Now I just need to see if I can scrape up enough gas money to get there on saturday.

Fifteen bucks doesn't matter to you? Fine. Give me fifteen bucks.

Why shouldn't he complain about a fifteen dollar differential? In a logical scenario, Cedar Point should be the park charging 55.00.

Must be nice to live in a world where that kind of chump change doesn't matter to you.

So I went to the focus group. The only things that I think are really worth mentioning are that Triple Play will be back next season. And next season you will be able to swipe you season pass while buying food or merchandise to get discounts, the exact discounts haven't been worked out yet.
