Ice Mountain Splash at SFGAm opened today for the first time this year. It was aparently opened as compensation for Logger's Run being closed. From Ice Mountain Splash, it appears the conveyor belt on Logger's Run's lift snapped sometime today.
What's the point of having two "twin" rides, if you're only going to open one at a time. Why not, instead, demolish one as Paramount's GAm has done, and wrap a coaster around the remaining one???

Ice Mountain Splash was opened on July 5th. So today wasnt the 1st day.. sorry buddy
hmm...........think about that.......great coaster room.......there wuld be no point to take 1 down. theyre almost the same thing...it wouldnt make a difference. if they want a coaster, they should delete both flumes. but they could get rid of IMS and put in a flat ride at the entrance.

I don't think you understand what most people are saying. Yes they are almost exactly the same. But thats not why they should be torn down. One should be torn down because the only have one open at a time.
Yesterday Ice Mountain Splash was open becuase Logger's Run still isnt fixed. It was closed for about 10 min. because something happened to a girl's arm. I saw her sleeve (the shirt was white too) and it had black stuff all over it. Funny how when I got on it afterwards I noticed a sign that said "keeps your arms inside the boat at all times."Also, at the drop for Ice Mountain Splash I noticed directly across at the drop for Logger's Run, there are two drops right next to each other. Are they both for Logger's Run? Is only one used? When I went on it last year they used the left one. Whats the other for? I always thought it was for Ice Mountain Splash but I guess it isnt.
theres 2 drop things for loggers run and i think on busy days they might alternate every other car on each drop, but then they might have 2 so if ones not working right theres the 2nd one, but both chutes are for loggers run. IMS's drop is the traditional straight down drop, while loggers run has 2 slopes in the drop.
Any Arrow hydroflume ride has 2 drops. Back in the old days, they were both used. As long as I've been going, they haven't. I think the bottom of the second (and top too) is gated off, and I don't mean by the pneumatic gate, but rather just a plain old gate that has to be physically removed to make the other side useful. It's been a while since I've been on either, so maybe fuzzy memory is making up this gate. I am certain that only one side is used all the time, though.I honestly can't see the 2nd drop on either being used any time soon. They don't staff all the rides all the time the way it is anyways (for example, 1 flume being closed durring the week all the time, and a few flats being closed on all but weekends.) So, considering that they don't staff everything like it should be anyways, why would they put more people on the flumes, when it would barely increase it's capacity anyways?
I don't understand why they don't have enough staff to operate everything in the park on a daily basis, and yet if you go to SixFlags.com they don't have any job openings at SfGaM? No, part-time, no full-time no nothing? I am confused ?
Why isn't everything being staffed? Why aren't ride open?BUDGETThe park is not busy this year. Attendance, well, sucks. The park is going to cut staffing and close rides rather than have people go into overtime.
Hope can you say the park is not busy ? I don't think you have been to the park this summer, its as busy as ever if not busier. Attendance definitly could not have dropped comaped to last year, because last year sucked. Show me some proof that the park isn't busy this year.
Thats the beauty of poor staffing. Less people go to the parks, less staff on rides. Less staff on rides, lower overal park capacity, lines get longer, guests get more and more unhappy, fewer guests return each year. This is the only way I can think of having attendance decrease while it feels busier every year.
