They're just these little paper tickets they hand you at the beginning of the line, and they have a number on them. Then, before you enter the station, they check your number and make sure you didn't line-jump.
I only have one major complaint about the boarding passes though. Whats the point of having them, if the ride op collecting them at the end of the line isn't checking the numbers!! There were about 5 people I saw line jump in SUF's line last Sunday, 2 were caught by Security. But while Security was busy kicking them out of line, 3 others line jumped. And when it came to collecting tickets, the ride op didn't even notice that they were way out of order because he wasn't checking. So what good are they, they are just wasting paper if they are being used like that in my opinion.

i got one 15 minutes before the park closed 1 day. i ended up being on the last train too so i got in line just in time. they stopped handing out the ticket things 10 seconds later. They did check. most of the time. but who really cares about the line jumping...ull probably end up in the same spot.
Thats weird I've been to sixflags six times this year and have yet to recieve a boarding pass on S:UF. Oh well maybe they only do it on the weekends or something.
We were at sfga yesterday (6/28) and they were handing out boarding passes on Raging Bull and Vertical Velocity and they were checking the numbers. So it appears they hand them out for rides with long lines, not just the new ones (i.e., S:UF).
Now all they need to do is add them to Batman. That ride has to be the easiest to line jump in. In the Gothem City Park just step over the 1 foot rails when people forget to move and there ya go. Normally they don't have staff watching the line either. Although one day there was a security officer standing on the exit stairs overlooking the line and 3 people line jumped right in front of her and nothing happened. Oh well...You can't always get everything.
Yeah, I think that they only use them when the lines are really long. I was at Great America in mid July of 2001(boy was it crowded!), and we had to use them for Raging Bull and Iron Wolf.
I've seen them used on AE, V2, B:TR, S:UF, RB, Viper, and Iron Wolf. Most of the time they didn't pay attention to the numbers so I found no point to them .
The only way you get to keep a boarding pass is if the ride breaks down and you leave with the line with the pass. I still have my DV, V2, and RB passes from when they broke down and didnt reopen on those days.
