Superman

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby lightningserve16 on June 18th, 2003, 2:47 pm
I have talked to many people who have gone on S:UF and some have said it was not all that great but some say that it was great. What is your opinion? Was it a good addition to the park?

they couldve just put up a washroom and it would have been better than shockwave.superman is definitely a good ride. prolly not in my top 5 steel coasters, but def. in my top 10.

I think it was a good move by six flags to bring SUF to the park. It sucks that Shockwave had to be taken down but I never saw more than a 20 minute line for it. It didn't seem very popular to the public which made it a logical choice to remove it.

I think they should have made a new flyer called Superwoman or something, because everyone I talked to did not like it because it was too short, but personally, I liked it, even though it was short.

Alot of people think it is too short and I have heard alot of bad things about it from people while in the park. I enjoyed it though the first 20 times I rode it, right now though I have basically overrode it. I already have almost as many rides on it as I ever got on Deja Vu. Just don't worry about what others think and just enjoy your ride and form your own opinion of the ride. I personally thought it was amazing during my first ride.

The first time you ride it is by far the best experience. The pretzle totally caught me off guard. I've ridden it 9 tiems though and I still think it is fun.

even if it turns out that you dont enjoy it, its worth the ride just because its very unique and intense.

I think SUF is a great ride. Right now it's my number one favorite. The excitement is starting to die down a little, though. It may be just me, though, I've only been on it 12 times. The pretzel loop is by far the best part of the ride.

I tought it was good the first time I rode it. The second ride and on were just okay. I definetly think its not worth replacing Shockwave!

Superman is great but I still don't think it could ever replace Shockwave's 7 inversion crazyness.

in my opinion taking out Shockwave was one of biggest mistakes that park made.

Yeah really, Shockwave was an amazing machine. I wish they could of did something to make it last another 10+ years. Oh well.

All I've done is X-Flight, the flying coaster doesn't impress me that much for some reason.

I thought SUperman was a great ride. That loop is the best part. I don't think the ride is too short at all.. if it gets TOO long.. it gets kind of boring.. it's just the rite length, i miss shockwave too, but superman was an improvement i think. i think the whizzer should've went but i don't think you could've fit superman where the whizzer was. the queue lines wouldn't have been enough. maybe that had something to do with it. shockwave had a lot of line space.. that probably effected the decision some.

I have to agree with Zak, X-Flight isn't impressive. The only thing it did for me was break down while I was waiting in line for it. :? Superman, though, fun ride, but don' expect much. It's no Batman.

Too bad they couldn't have made a custom flying coaster that would've woven around Shockwave. It sounds far out, but I think it would've been possible. Shockwave was a beast, and took up a lot of space... I think something would've fit in there. Lol, it's just a thought :D.

yeah, that would've been awesome.. i think i've heard of coasters going through eachother but not like that. it woulda been a first and it woulda been great. haha i kind of miss shockwave. i don't care if it DID beat you around a little.. it was a GREAT ride. :D

Superman is an amazing Ride. Espeically Front row, Superman's loop is insane, but i have to agree with most people that Shockwave should still be there. One thing about Superman is that its Queue line is really boring. Those Cut outs of the Superman Villians are pretty cool but you cant read the profile lol. I miss Shockwave but Superman fills the gap for now.R.I.P Shockwave.Mike
