Demon Paint Fading

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Take a look at this picture:http://www.alexsplace.com/Photos/Six-Flags-Great-America/Demon/Demon-04.htmAm I seeing things or is the track white in this picture? Could it possibly be that the black paint chipped away in this spot of the track( because Turn of The Century used to have white track)?

Thats an old picture and the exposure was probably set to high on the camera and let to much light in which probably made it brighter (if I used the wrong photography words, shoot me I only took 1 class lol) Anywho, I took a picture of it about 2 weeks ago and the paint looks fine. Ive heard people say this for the past few years but ive stood below and looked at it and never saw white paint...however I did see dark red, which was odd.

The steel that the coasters are made out of is almost always a dark-reddish color before the paint job... you're seeing where the paint has completely worn away! Just more proof that Demon needs to be repainted and themeing upgraded!

I've seen it chipped down to white, but that photo was digitally enhanced or just taken with the wrong F-stop or exposure time. Anyways, it doesn't matter, good looking paint or not, it's still boring! The only fun I got out of my last ride was laughing at the train shuffle so much through that tunnel of straight, flat track. Thats just not natural to bounce that much on flat track!

It could be that the paint is wearing off but not like that maybe some small spots but not that size, it had to be the camera.

I dont think it needs a paint job yet. Yes you can see some white spots but they are very small spots.

No it's not white. It's really dusty coming out of the tunnel, and the camera angle really showed it. Its a grayish dust. The same thing happens to the track underneath the waterfall. The red that you see on the rails is not the primer or the paint wearing completley off. The rails were red at one time. The Demon at PGA still has red rails.http://www.greatamericanthrills.com/Coa ... n.htmlThis shows the red rails, the new sign that their DEMON got, and the original trains with the cool 3D logo on the front.

Ive seen those pictures before. The rock formations are pretty crappy. The logos on the trains look cool.

Wildcat and Mantis both looked really bad and got a paint job this year and they look great. Maybe some rides at SFGAm will get a paint job this winter, there are a few that could use it. DV never looked good though when they put it in.

Yeah, Mantis looked absolutely beautiful... It could've easily passed as a brand new ride!

Yeah, Mantis does look really good now. But, IMHO Wildcat looks really ugly with it's new paint job.
