Just leaving the park and it seems like all work has halted since the last Tuesday. Nothing is changed on the site and no work was currently going on. No supports or track have been moved to the site from the back either.

I was up there on Sunday and i noticed that too, but i thought my mind was playing tricks on me
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
They were working on the lift up until Friday so they must’ve just stopped because of the weather and maybe President’s Day. The freezing temps today probably didn’t help either.
Dan The Coaster Man wrote:The halt is understandable. Looks like the daily high temp may not go below freezing after Sunday. Fingers crossed
Having a background in meteorology I’m still always keeping track of things and the outlook seems to suggest this may be the last extreme cold blast of the season and looking way ahead we could see our first 60 by the end of March. For the time being though it looks like once we get past this it’s 30’s & 40’s!
Goku1910 wrote:Hey B&M guy, in your video you said to expect testing on opening day.
When did X-Flight start tests?
Not B&Mguy but i expect in like April or Late march, especially to train employees
Training typically only takes one or two weekends. I Gaurantee you this ride won't be handed off to park operations until at least three weeks before opening. And keep in mind that training only occurs on weekends when park ops are there.
The training for low level park ops is quick because most of the stuff that applies to all rides is handled weeks before while training for each specific ride is typically a day or two. Especially the roller coasters which follow the same general procedures and they only need to go over what is specific to that particular Coaster.
Looks like no work today either. It's just too damn cold.
Everyone needs to stop saying it’s just too damn cold. We had a cold snap before, that they worked through. In fact the last cold snap was colder than it has been this time. And today it’s in the 20’s and still no track work is going on. They are however working in the station and around those walls that were put up.
Still mind boggling to me that they’ve suspended track work with no movement at all on site of even moving pieces to the site to get them ready.
Well clearly there’s more to it than we could ever know unless someone was able to communicate with Sky High. I agree construction is not going at the pace that we’d personally like to see but I’m sure everything’s just fine. I can understand that it’s also probably annoying to drive all the way to the park for drone footage just to find out there’s been no new installation.

Fair point, they definitely worked through conditions 5x worse for Goliath. But generally speaking it's faster when warmer

Keep in mind that SFGAm ~may~ be moving to iROC this season. Other legacy Six Flags parks were confirmed to be moving to iROC, but I don't believe SFGAm was listed. I feel like it would make sense for it to come to all parks, not just select parks. If someone knows for sure, please let me know. I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything. If SFGAm is indeed moving to iROC, that adds an extra level of training that is completely new.

I'm dumb, what is this iROC?

iROC is a third-party training program with specific standards for operators. Most (if not all) legacy CF parks use them. The program focuses on ten key components of an operator's job. These components are Professionalism, Engaging Riders, Rider Screening, Load/Unload, Area Access Control, Restraint Device Security Verification, Operator Communication, "Operator Safe Zones," Pre-Dispatch Safety Check, and Preparedness.
Personally, comparing my experiences with how the ride ops loaded the trains/secured the trains at Cedar Point (the only legacy CF park I've been to) and SFGAm, I prefer the current system SFGAm has right now. I think you get much more control over your experience.

It’s mind boggling that Sky High doesn’t want to risk injury to their guys by having them install Heavy track in the cold, snow and ice? It’s been pretty icy out there. If they can a wait a few days for it to get warm, then why not just wait? Calm down! It makes total sense why they stopped for a few days.
Anyways, work has been going on. Cranes spotted today doing electrical work and the tower is partially down indicating work is indeed going on.
Reading through & seeing the recent photos posted in the KD blog for Rapterra make me quite hopeful we will see a fun level of theming for Rakshasa. Not to that extent I'm sure as they've had much more time to prepare but it's exciting nonetheless.
