How about PTC trains? And can PTC trains even run on Gravity Group track?

Would not call myself a great but thank you haha. I'm pretty new to YT.

PTC trains can most certainly run on Gravity Group track. PTC's run on ground up Gravity Group coasters like Boardwalk Bullet and Voyage, while PTC trains also run on Gravity Group retrack projects like Racer.

What is up with Eagle's trains? Seems they are tearing the hell out of the structure (why racing is no longer possible?). I've heard them called Frankenstein trains, a mish-mash of makers/parts.

They're really no different from other 3 row PTC's as far as I know.

Eagle cycles their trains each year, there are three total for each side and you'll notice them change every season. Just part of the maintenance schedule.

As for what's tearing it apart, most of it comes from age, the weight of the trains combined, and the way wooden coasters are designed. Turns out we learned a lot since the 80's.

From what I've heard from an internal source, the Barrel is the big reason why it doesn't race anymore. The force of both trains feeding each other ended up putting so much strain on the structure it caused a cable to snap. Lack of staffing is just an easy excuse seeing as you need double to run both sides.

I can't even begin to understand what it would take to get it racing again because I don't think the track is the biggest issue, it's the support structure beneath it.

When the park switched from buzz bars to individual lapbars it was done in house, which makes the park itself the manufacturer of the train, as far as I know PTC will not support them in any way. Other than that the chassis should still be pretty close to PTC spec.

If I had to guess the structure is fine too, I'd bet money the lack of racing comes down to $$$ and Staffing.

Very, VERY unlikely situation here, but what if the park dumped a whole butt-load of money into American Eagle to replace the support structure for the barrel, repaint most of the ride, put on new Gravity Group track, new PTC trains, rerouted the queue, and brought back racing. However, the park would market that as their new coaster instead of something like a Dive or Raptor.

ONLY if they increase the banking of both helix's, And maybe having a steeper drop and a tunnel would be enough to market it as a new addition?-- Certainly more than DC Universe
