Places to charge your phone at the park?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I have been having battery issues and my phone dies fast even when the battery is nowhere near 0%. Want to make sure when I go to the park I can charge my phone somewhere. Any suggestions?

Do you have a battery that you can charge prior to your visit? That's what I do if it needs to last.

Some lampposts have outlets. I saw someone using the lamppost that's right on the entrance for the path from Demon to SWAT, Demon side.

There's a spot on the bridge over the employee service road between County Fair and Yukon Territory. I saw someone charging their iPhone their recently.

I haven't seen many outlets available. I typically bring battery pack. We have a few of them that are pretty small. I throw 1 or 2 into my bag along with a cable and charge while we walk.

Or you can always get a mobile phone charger so you don't have to stay in one place while charging your phone.

It is kind of last minute I know. I think the easiest thing to do instead of ordering a new battery right now or a battery pack(?)/mobile charger(possibly not enough time) would be just to charge my phone somewhere at the park. I have a Galaxy S3.

Never having taken my phone into the park, I'm at an amusement park afterall, I couldn't tell you for sure, but being an electrician I can look at building codes and tell you most gift shops will have outlets, especially near the windows (though those may be on the ceiling in some cases), most buildings will have an exterior outlet, just flip the cover up and plug in, I'd say bathrooms are the most likely, and if all else fails, I'm sure you can take the phone into guest relations or whatnot and leave it there to charge for a bit.

And the last and biggest one that just jumped into my mind, the former cyber cafe, all those computers were plugged in somewhere, should still be outlets galore in there.

I know Target currently has battery packs for $5 and Best Buy has them for like $7 (with a USB cord), don't know how well they work but they're easy to get if you want one...

I though there were charging stations? What happened to those?

I've got a little solar panel with USB ports on it and I just charge my stuff off of that... Cloudy days aren't too friendly with it though

I know for a fact that some sit down restaurants have outlets. I never use them, as I would rather notice my surroundings than stare at my phone the whole day. Hell, I could do that anywhere. Finally keep the fact that this is coming from a fifteen year old.

Typically I don't use my phone too much either, BUT I have a little kid (7) and we bring friends along with us. Apparently, her friend's parents are the helicopter type because they are all over me texting to ask questions. However, I got a Sony Xperia phone and the battery life is amazing!

Just leave the damn thing in the car! You are at an amusement park to spend a day with family members or friends. Facebook doesn't have to be updated every 20 seconds, trust me your life isn't that interesting. Just stay together there's is something in each area for everyone. :-) Or set up meeting spots in each area and times have people totally forgotten what a watch is? Personally I love it when fools drop their phones on water rides, makes my day actually.

Teehee :) The parks should make large murals/artwork displays with all the broken phones they retrieve (in addition to the plexiglass boxes on display). Kinda like the movie theaters are doing the "turn it off" campaign, parks can do similar (but "leave it in the car!") We managed to do well at parks for years before everyone had a cell phone.

If you want physical science, it would be genetics. Otherwise I would say it's how they're raised.

There are some outlets on the opposite side of the beef house that overlooks V2. I have seen people charge their phones their more than once. On top of that its not a bad place to sit and watch V2 if you are in a ride watching / photographing kind of mood.

Also, just wanted to add that I saw portable battery packs in the X-Flight gift shop.

And yes, the outlets in Go Fresh Cafe still exist.

This would go against what they already have in place with their "Hide/Take your valuables" when it comes to cars.

Also, we shouldn't be attacking someone that wants to have their phone with them. The point and shoot camera has essentially died due to the fact that no one needs to carry a phone/camera/camcorder around anymore seeing as they're all in one semi compact product now. I've been there hundreds of times in my life and every visit I seem to find something else to take a picture of. Also, lots of members on this board like to update trip reports and the like, forewarning any of us that are planning to make a trip that very same day of any closures, volume of crowds, possible construction recon, etc. The digital age has changed us as a people, yes, but I'm pretty sure OP isn't one of the teenagers you shoulder check on the midway because he has his nose buried in his iPhone (he's been on this board for longer than I have).

I am showing my age. It used to be called that. Its across from the go-carts. On my recent visit I see that its now called something like claimjumpers chicken.
