I picked Carousel Plaza because just seeing the carousel you know you are going to have a great day. I also picked Mardi Grad because I love all things New Orleans and Creole, Also it has some of the best lightning inthe park and theming too, second only to SwT.
I'm hopeful that this revitalization of Carousel Plaza and Hometown Square will bring the much needed refresher that the front of the park has needed for quite some time.
Southwest Territory has my fav theming, County Fair has my fav collection of rides/coasters. However Southwest Teritorry has a great collection of rides/coasters as well, is a close call for me.
I would have put in my vote for HH, but It was only nice for 2 years max after 2006 it started to get ghetto, and dirty, and I stopped going with swimmers. I myself don't swim so I can get the same experiences off of RR, YC, LR, AND BB.
I usually strongly prefer wooded/green areas with shade and rides that are placed well, not all on top of each other. You can't go wrong with Southwest Territory even with the lack of greenery. It's not the theming, because whether or not an area is themed matters very little to me, it's just well-designed, good mix/variety of things to do, all reasonably placed. I do think it's seen better days- nothing huge, but the removal of Trail Blazer in favor of nothing at all was a bummer, the decision to surround both sides of the walkway towards Viper with games, and the Hurricane Harbor entrance took away a bit too in my opinion.
On the other side of the coin, I've kind of grown to dislike County Fair over the years. Throwing the Frisbee where they did, along with Wiggles area under tent and re-routing of Eagle's queue just makes that area feel like a cluster-f. I know that's how county fairs often are, but it definitely had a better flow to it in the past.
I also think that they took an absolute dump on Hometown Square with the Ignite stuff. Really curious as to how anyone thought that was a good idea.
Since every area has something to offer, it is impossible to choose one. CP I guess I spend the least amount of time but I do love the experience of walking in the park seeing the pond and carousel then deciding to go left or right. The only areas I do not like are the ones that are SBNO like SWF was from 2008-X Flight.
I meant County Fair was a mess for all that time when SWF was removed and replaced with nothing till X Flight. I honestly always thought SWF was popular.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
7/3 I made my 2015 return to the park. I went with my sister in law, nephew and his friend. When they were at the water park(a good 4 hours), I was walking in SWT and an employee approached me. This younger than me, African American guy asked me if anyone told me I looked like Beavis from beavis and butthead! I told him no and when he said he did not mean to offend me I walked away. I seriously wish I caught his name. To report him. How unprofessional to tell a guest that. He said if I just changed my hair a bit I would look just like him. He didn't ruin that area for me but that was my first and only bad experience at SWT. A guy like that has no business working with the general public. Keep your (bad) opinions to yourself!
