Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

My family and I will be visiting SFGA for the first time from 7/4 - 7/6. We just moved to within about a 3 hour drive to the park and planned on getting Gold season passes. For this visit, we planned to spend 2 days at the park and one day at the water park. Which day do you suggest would be the best day to visit the water park? My guess was for 7/4 for a couple of reason. One was the weather. The last forecast I looked at showed the highs for those days being 73, 75, and 80 respectively. I figured since Friday would be the least warm day of the three, that maybe the water park would not be as crowded that day. Also, I figured the most crowded day in the ride park over the 4th of July weekend would be on the 4th. Do you agree? Disagree?

We have been to other Six Flags parks, just not this one. My wife and I have been to Six Flags over Georgia, and with our kids, we have been to the Six Flag close to Dallas, TX and to the Six Flags in St. Louis.

I go on the fourth every year with my buddies. Normally. The waterpark is packed and so are the water rides. Because it's really hot (103 2 years ago, they were sprayin fire hoses in the air to cool people off). I'm not sure what it'll be like when it's cooler. It'll still be crowded. When it's realy hot, shorter wait for coasters

There really is no need for you to all have gold season passes unless you have multiple cars. If you don't have multiple cars redgular passes are just fine, you get the same coupon book either way (though this year i think all of the coupons are online). Also think about getting a flash pass as one year my friend went and he had a 2 hour wait for most coasters and only did 4 or 5 rides then the day was over. For the water park consider renting a inner tube especially if you just wanna chill in the lazy river for a little while. Definately DO NOT WEAR FLIP FLOPS! You'll thank me for this. Also hit the water rides early though you can get to bucaneer battle at your leisure there is never a line for it and you get completely soaked.
