Why are X Flight and Superman VERY underrated?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

X Flight and Superman Ultimate Flight are two of the rides that are VERY underrated. There are ALOT of people who hate X Flight and Superman. Why is this? X Flight and Superman in my opinion are GREAT rides! I don't get it why people don't like them.

I think Superman and X Flight are underrated because they are short rides. I agree with you though, they are GREAT rides. I also have a feeling that Goliath will be just as underrated as X Flight and Superman just because it is a short ride.

Superman is booooorrrring. Its only saving grace is the pretzel loop. Other than that, it's just.... dull

I don't think length has anything to do with it. Look at Batman, it's shorter than Superman and X Flight and people love it. It's all just a matter of opinion. If you're looking for an intense ride, Superman and X flight won't be very high on your list. If you want a leisure ride that's fun but not crazy forceful, then the might be better for you.

Personally, I don't like Superman and think it's a slow boring coaster, with the exception of the pretzel loop. X Flight on the other hand, is a little underrated to me. I don't think it's amazing, but I also don't think it's the dull boring ride it's sometimes made out to be.

In my honest opinion, I think SUF is slightly overrated. Almost all of my friends freak out each time we go because it's such a "crazy" roller coaster. I find it rather dull, although I have to say that the pretzel loop is quite a thrilling element, especially in the back row. Again, that's just my opinion.

X-Flight however, I have to say that it's not a really thrilling ride but I do find it a lot of fun. It's a smooth ride with a lot of cool elements from the inverted drop to the control tower fly-through. It's my 2nd favorite coaster at the park.

Because SUF IS overrated. As has been said, it really is "Pretzel Loop: The Ride". The barrel roll at the end is one of the most thrown-away inversions I've experienced. "Ok, the ride is over, but we still have quite a ways back to the station, so let's just put a twist in here to eat some track."

Probably the three most complained things are about height, length, and speed. When it comes to Superman, Everybody notices the position riders are in and the pretzel loop. Then the height. The GP says its short and not that tall. Let's go to raging Bull.
With X-Flight, people notice the seats on the side. However, they don't hear the Roar of other coaster. The GP just assumes it's slow because it's quiet. Overall Raging Bull is an overrated ride.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Here is some advice for Superman. If you want a GREAT ride, sit in the last row (row eight). It feels a lot faster back there and that pretzel loop is AMAZING! I even blackout/greyout in the loop because of all the G forces.

I don't feel that Superman is at all underrated. I won't wait more than 20 minutes for it. It's just boring. X-Flight is fantastic for it's size. When you take into consideration the amount of space B&M had to work with, they hit a home run in my opinion.

X-Flight and S:UF aren't underrated in my opinion. Both are great coasters. They aren't that short. One of the reasons why I like them is because I like the feeling of flying.

Superman's underrated because it's a piece of ****.

X-Flight is because its height is relatively short and it doesn't look very fast from the queue. Which is unfortunate, considering it's my favorite steel coaster.

I meant that that's why it doesn't get any attention.

SUF has always been an incredibly over rated ride. It seems like there is almost always an hour long line for it for a clone. X-Flight has an original layout and is one of only 5 or so wing coasters in the world. X-Flight id under rated because the marketing department sucks.

SUF opened the same year as the other one. Same thing happened with the TDKs.

You mean the best marketing department in the Six Flags chain and perhaps one of the best among all the chain parks?

SFGAm won the IAAPA Brass Ring for Public Relations Programming this year for Class 4 parks, so I'd definitely say our PR and Marketing is the best in the chain. Of course they aren't going to match your chains that can devote larger budgets to marketing, but the work our team does is still great regardless.

But back on topic, I fail to see how marketing is going to change the majority opinion of a ride. You could tell the GP that X Flight is unique and has an "original layout" but they're still going to like Raging Bull better because it's higher and faster. X Flight being one of the first of it's kind is a cool fact, but doesn't make the actual ride any better.

Name me one SF park that has a better PR team. I was referring to the chains of Six Flags and Cedar Fair by the way. I always forget there's multiple Disney and Universal parks but I wasn't counting them. They have more money and higher skilled teams within their marketing departments.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas, not even in the same league as SFGAm.

And actually most Herschend Parks have better PR than the likes of Disney, Universal, and any CF or SF parks.

Lastly back to the topic at hand, they are not underrated. Different people have different tastes and form their own opinions. And as a whole people in general rank Superman and X Flight quite low despite what any of us believes.

Tall and Fast= Good coaster for GP. Unique with good mix of + and - G's= good coaster for fanatics.
That's the equation for virtually every coaster.

Not always, Batman for instance at every park it's installed in is a very popular ride, and it is neither tall nor particularly fast. Then at Cedar Point the last 2 times I've gone, the only ride has had any line at all was Maverick, Gatekeeper and Millennium Force both with 2 trains, both walkons wile Maverick sported a consistent 45 min wait all day running all trains and running pretty reliably.
