ShockWave & SuperMan Ultimate Flight

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Drkstarboard on March 29th, 2004, 9:41 pm
I was thinking and looking at pictures of ShockWave and then I began to think about SuperMan Ultimate Flight. I just want to say that If you look at the Observation tower pictures of ShockWave and SuperMan Ultimate Flight. It doesnt look like SuperMan Ultimate Flight could fit where ShockWave once stood. It's also a little bit hard to belive that ShockWave once stood where SuperMan Ultimate Flight is now. What do you think?

Superman takes up less space than Shockwave did.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Just looking at pics, you can tell that Superman takes up a smaller foot print than shockwave. I remember while riding Superman for the first time, I was going down the exit ramp and looking tward the parking lot, I could see were the footers of the Blocking Brakes of Shockwave once stood. Also, the end of Supmerman's prezel part, doesn't quit reach the end of Shockwaves curving drop.

What I'm tring to say is...I miss Shockwave. :(

I found out that Six Flags Great America is bringing back Shockwave by the 2005 season. That will be awesome, because everyone wants it back.

You are greatly misinformed.

No, Perplexed is right, they are bringing back Shockwave. But it's not coming back in 2005, that's when SkyWhirl, Z-Force, The Edge and Rolling Thunder are going back in. Shockwave won't be re-erected until 2006! lol. Seriously though, as much as I'd like to see Shockwave back, with some improvements, it is unlikely that it will ever happen. Plus, making statements like that without any info is a sure way to get a topic locked. Seeing as how someone else started the topic, it's not cool to get it shut down on them. Just me .02.

That would be cool if ShockWave came back. I know for sure that Z-force isn't coming back. Rolling Thunder most likely isn't coming back. The Edge woudnt come back becase of its accident (From what I heard of an accident). It would be kind of cool for Sky Whirl to come back.

I can assure you Sky Whirl wont be going up anywhere (unless they pump some serious money into some stuff on it, which i'm not sure is even replaceable).

Yeah i think it would be cool if shockwave came back in 2005 but i thought that they were getting a floorless coaster or rocket coaster in 2005. And does anyone know about the statis of the waterpark and resort and parking garage.

I do not think superman should've been built in 2003. They should've used the parking lot to the right of SW territory In 2001 when the other 2 new coasters were built. Or now w/ the new mardi grau section. Shockwave would've stayed and we would have 2 incredible coasters!
(And 12 other ones)
P.S. Shockwave WILL be back in 2K5  I think IT will be in that unused Parking lot next to SW territory.

P.P.S. What do you think is the best thing about SFGAm :?:
