I watch TV via Aereo cause I don't want cable and Im not going on my roof. You need to be NYC to use it but I fake my geolocation to make my browser think I'm in NYC (live 30 from SFGA). I'm watching TV channel PIX11 or WABC and the commercial for Six Flags Great Adventure comes on. The final scene of it you get this great 3 second glimpse of SFGA. Just thought it was cool to see our park on TV in NYC. The first 30 seconds of this vid is an actual I <3 NYC ad but after is the Six Flags ad. Enjoy!
Six Flags uses stock footage of parks very interchangeably.
One of the fun games you can play with any piece of Six Flags advertising material is "guess the park" or "guess the ride." Magic Mountain is often a good guess, probably since there are more production companies for that sort of thing in L.A. than anywhere else, so they might be able to get a cheaper deal. But, as you saw, material comes from all over. Texas and Great Adventure get plenty of love, too.
When you've had the chance to travel to a few of the Six Flags parks, it's kind of a neat reminder of where you've been when you can recognize a ride from another park. I know Colossus and Goliath from Magic Mountain make their way into a few Six Flags TV spots.
Also, while we're on the topic, I honestly believe I could do just as good of a job as Kit Hoover. Six Flags, give me a guest spot!

Back in the Marriott days and early Six Flags days, they'd use the drop of Colossus to advertise for American Eagle. Just check out some TV spots on SFGAm's youtube channel.
Also, if i'm not mistaken, that shot early in the commercial of S:UF going over it's second to last turn I'm pretty sure is from SFGAm as well. I recall seeing a shot 100% completely like that on the episode of Extreme Coaster Wars X-Flight was in.
Consecutive Trips Riding X Flight: 92 SFGAm Lifetime Trips: 104

I will look and see, though if this is so, I wonder how they did that, since Six Flags didn't own Magic Mountain until 1979, but didn't own Great America until 1984, making me wonder how 1979-84 Marriott Great America was able to use footage from a non-company coaster. [shrug]
Also, grand scheme, I'll take Eagle over Colossus any day. I found Colossus to be slow and boring.
