Can we just be happy with the park that we have?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on February 3rd, 2004, 1:56 pm
A few weeks ago, Six Flags Great America's GM Tim Black confirmed what most on this site and undoubtedly the enthusiasts around the internet already knew, Six Flags was going to have a major addition to the park. And i welcome these new attractions. But some people on the forum seem to be already displeased with our new rides. In One particular thread, Dave hit the nail right on the thread with the comment
Some enthusiass's just aren't happy with anything unless it's world record breaking. It's something the whole family can enjoy, not a Top Thrill Dragster."

He couldnt have been more right, some people on this fourm are greedy, and expect everything to be at Great America. Its sad really, because we have prehaps the best Park in the Six Flags chain but, we still cant be happy with what we have got.

I for one am, and im glad that we finally got some new family rides, (put aside my dislike for Whizzer) I have a younger cousin that cant go on Demon and Eagle etc. etc, But with these new additions, in addition to what we already have, he's all but guranteed a fun time at GA, and isnt that what its all about?

*The Opinions Expessed are not necessarliy those of this Site, its Webmaster or anyone else, they are purely mine.*

Some people are not truely happy in life unless they have something to complain about. If these people are so unhappy with the park they should boycott it. But no these people still buy their season passes and visit the park 20 - 40 times a year. If you want a extreme park visit SFMM they can put all the world breaking coasters in year after year cause off all the parks in the area. We on the other hand do not have many big park to compete with so we have to cater to all groups, not just coaster fans.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

I agree with you Mike. Some people act like the amusement parks are only for thrillseekers. They only care about themselves and think families don't matter. Amusement parks are for EVERYONE. And plus, some parks can't afford world record breaking coasters, and a lot of them have height restrictions. If the parks were only for thrillseekers, they wouldn't make enough money to get another big coaster.

SFGAm has already established themselves as one of the best thrill parks in the world...I don't see how people can complain with adding some new family rides (and to an area that really needed them too).

I will be honest. Yes, I absolutely love the bigger parks such as Cedar Point, IOA, and Six Flags Magic Mountain (have yet to visit, but want to badly) . I absolutely love the big rides that they offer. But I am agreed with most of you on here. An amusement park is not just for enthusiasses, it is for EVERYONE!
I personally like SFGAM's new additions this year. The mouse sounds fun, and I can attest from riding other older mice, that these things are fun :D . I have also been thinking for some time that we have needed some new flats, especially to replace Power Dive, and Cajun Cliffhanger. We finally got them, and I think that it will please a lot of people. You should know that you will see me riding Revolution and King Chaos, while enjoying myself 8) .

Its not that they are complaining that the park is gettting something, theyre complaining that the park is getting something that they dont like. Those people wanted the park to get something and it did but it doesnt fit their likeing. I guess from those people were happy that the park was getting something but got let down because it was for family. The complainers out there should stop because the park isnt going to care if you like their decisions or not. They are doing whats needed like it or not.

I for one am pleased with all that our park has to offer. I couldn't be happier that my home park is SFGAm. It's an amazing park, with a huge variety of things to do. It's for the most part clean, everything is taken care of well, rides are kept up and running... How can you complain? We've got a huge set of world-class coasters, there's no reason to get upset that we're getting a smaller coaster that will please many little kids this summer, and summers to come. Besides, if we weren't getting that, most likely we'd be getting nothing. And this is better than nothing, you can't deny that.

I completly agree as well. But i just want to make a comment. Notice that everyone in this thread so far has agreed. As you've now singled them out, the people who think that this new addition is not a good one. (I think you know what i mean) Will either A. Not even click the thread, Or B. Scoff at us and insult us, or not respond after reading. So really starting this was pointless but Whatever makes you happy.

This is the perfect thing for the park to do. They added rides in an area that had 1 existing ride(Roaring Rapids) and had 2 rides removed in the past 3 years(CC and Power Dive). The area was dead for the most part. What they added gives everyone something to be happy about. The kids can enjoy Big Easy Balloons, Cajun, and Jester's Wild Ride. Us enthusists can enjoy Cajun, King Chaos, and Revoultion. Don't tell me that you hate those types of rides considering I dout most people have been on all 3 kinds of them, so don't complain, count down the days until May 1st.

Gavlan one question, why are you allways starting topicss practicly complaing about other people's opions? I am not trying to be mean or anything like that, but this is getting kind of anyoing. In this country people are entilted there opions, but on this site in the TOS you should not attack people, which you are practicly dpong. If people want to work at Great America, so let them think that it is a good job, you can tell them what you think, but don't go and post a new topic to practicly attack someone. If you can pklease if not stop, calm down a little bit. Please do not take this topic personally, but I just wanted to point this out to you, if you did not notice.

Please show me complaining. I think that I speak for most everyone when I say the I'm pleased with the new section. I haven't seen too many people complaining for a long time.

I really like the new addition. I think (other than Superman) it's by far the best thing they've added since Southwest Territory in 1996.

If you want to see complaining, just look at this topic.

Complaining? You see no complaining about our park adding family rides? Try this: http://sfgamworld.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2&start=26 Or this: http://sfgamworld.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2&start=33 Or this: http://sfgamworld.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... c&start=75 But, no, there's no complaining at all about installing family rides.

Oh, this is just boring news to me. I was happy with or without any new addition, and I honestly believe that this is great for the park. I'm not into flat rides at all and I probably wont ride the wild mouse more than once or twice. I never was the one begging for a new coaster, I honestly thought we were not going to get any new rides this year. So, this is just a boring announcement to me, not to the rest of you. (And no, I am not hoping/looking foreward to any new coaster next year).

Please feel free to hilight any complaining in that post.

The other two links ->The wild mouse topic was started as a legitimant conversation. Two morons decided to get in a pearsonal argument and ruin it.

I am not even going to bother answering those questions until i can understand your typing. Im not attacking anyone i am just questioning there opinion which as you stated "In this country people are entilted there opions" i guess im just stating my "opinon"

Side Note: I never once showed the names of people who where in my view complaining or anything of that sort. I basically ask why?

No matter what you do or say Galvan, there will always be people that disagree with you. There's no reason to start a topic on every disagreement.

I for one am happy about the changes, but that doesn't mean everyone will be.
