well...you've got the fast food chains on Grand Ave. (2 McDonald's, Burger King, 2 Wendy's, Krispy Kremes, Chuck E. Cheese's, Long John Silvers [not sure if that opened yet], Taco Bell, Boston Market, Panera Bread) I've never been here, but old Gurnee has some unique restaurants.
There's also sit down restaurants on Grand Ave.: Chili's, Steak 'n Shake, Outback Steakhouse, IHOP, Lone Star, Baker's Square, Denny's, Rainforest Cafe (Gurnee Mills), Ruby Tuesday (Gurnee Mills), TGIFriday's.
There's also downtown Grayslake, a 10-15 minute drive from SFGAm. There's Abel's (Mexican), Whitney's (modern diner, mainly breakfast), Fred's Diner (name says it all, but I've never been there), I forget the name of another one.
Directions to downtown Grayslake: 132 Grand Ave. West to US Rte. 45, US Rte. 45 South to Center Street, Center Street west into downtown Grayslake. There's also a good pasta place called That Pasta Place on US Rte. 83 (take Center Street west from 45, then go north on 83 for just a minute or two, it's on the right.)
Don't forget the chineese restraunt just off the expressway on Grand Ave. across from Six Flags called something like "Ming's Wak." Acually, I've never been there.
I've been to I think a Geno's pizza that is near the McDonnalds by Great America. Other than that, I've never really gone to any sitdown. Good topic, I might have to hit one of these places on the 1st.
I always hit Taco Bell up for some Cheesy Gordita Crunch or Chalupa feasts. If it's sitdown, then it's Friday's, and once in a while we'll do Steak 'N Shake. It's always fun to try somthing new though...
When at the park and it gets crowded, I'll walk over to either BK or Subway. After the park usually either, Olive Garden, IHOP, McDonalds, Pizza Hut or Steak N Shake.

Friday's is on the SW corner of Hunt Club Road and Grand Ave, next to Wendy's and across from Target. Hunt Club Road is the stoplight west of Gurnee Mills.

The best place in SFGAm to eat is "Crazy Buffalo Salloon" Only because it's all you can eat style is such a better deal than buying a burger, fry, and soda outside on the midway... Also free refills?!!?! OHHH MASHED POTATOES!!!!!!!!!!! After eating walk across the midway and ride the Chubasco... LOL.
