Wasn't SF supposed to build one like 2 to 4 years ago?
This does sound cool though.

That sounds pretty cool. It will be neat to see how it is. I wonder if you have to stay at the hotel to be able to use the water park. If it is separate do you think in the Summer it will take some of the crowds away from SFGAM? Not a lot but maybe a little?

I cant wait for this. This gets ridd of all o those water park rumors now for six flags. The parks going to be built on the 30 acre lot on the other side of grand, near culvers, right across from great america. It will cost a total of $130 million, and will feature a 400 room hotel, 50,000 square foot conference center, 60,000 square foot indoor water park, and 2 resteraunts. Not details were given of the rides, but we will find out in at least 2 weeks. The parks built by great northern resorts.

That sounds awesome. I don't plan on going to the water park at all, but it should draw some of the crowds away from SFGAm.

Ya...this is cool, I am not all that fond of water parks, but it will draw away from some of those lines on the very hot days hopefully. 8)

Have you thought about the idea of it taking away to much business?. Our attendance is already low do you want it to go any lower? Lower attendance means less money. Less money means now new rides. In the long run it may mean the park will be closed for good instead of just an offseason.

It's just a waterpark. An amusement park and a water park are two different things. You go to an amusement park for thrills, and to a water park to get wet. It would never take nearly enough attendance from GAm that they would permanently close.

I doubt it would take any attendance away from the park.

Its an indoor waterpark with a hotel. If anything, it will only help out SFGAm.

People will go to SFGAm during the day and come back to the hotel in the evening and then utilize the waterpark.

Offseason, this new complex will probably make its most money.

well at least SFGAm will have their own water park finally, I was skepital(sp?) on this rumor, but to me it's just a bit more info. I still treat it as a rumor, and until SFGAm announces this 'water park' then will I be sure I'll see H20 when I go to SFGAm.....

BTW, is this rumored for 2004 or 2005?

TwistedSTEEL.

Please read the link in the Daily Herald before posting. If you read it , you would know that Six Flags has nothing to do with this waterpark.
