Yes, I was waiting for them to announce the full details of how this is all going to work. Now that I see the details, it's a no-brainer that 4 of us should get together and order together.

I'm looking at the order form and it requires name address and all other obvious information for each pass. Although there is a tick-box at the bottom that says "copy contact info to other passes". I don't know if one person can just order 4 with all their info and 3 other people can still get away with using them, or if it's required to have accurate info on all of them. In that case, whoever does the purchasing is going to be entrusted with 3 other people's addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, etc.

Also I don't know when it says you have to process at the park before the end of October to get your free upgrade, I hope they don't require all four people to come at the same time? Wouldn't be the end of the world but just wondering.

Also I'd like to volunteer that I do have a Discover card which appears to save 5% on any transactions with Six Flags, if people want me to do the ordering I'm fine with that so we each save a few more bucks.

If it weren't for the needing to fill out all the personal info ahead of time, I would just buy 4 myself, throw the other 3 on eBay at face value, and sell them off. Although... I guess I could put a set of four on eBay BEFORE making the order, and within the auction I will include all the info that Six Flag wants for your pass. After the three extra passes sell, whoever bought them can send me their info along with their payment (I'd probably already get your name address and phone number through PayPal anyway), and then I can do the order, complete with accurate info. Only issue with this is I'd have to bump the price a few bucks to cover the fact that eBay and Paypal each take a small percent of your sale price when you're the seller. Plus if done this way, you're not just trusting some stranger on the forums to order a pass for you with all your info, you'd be doing the transaction through eBay and PayPal which means you'd have their privacy and security rules and they could come after me if there was any funny business.

The only downside to this is that we'd lose the little feature of making monthly payments of under 6 dollars because I would of course require that everyone pay in full. But a single $65 payment is no biggie.

Anyways just throwing out various ideas how this could be done. If nobody is interested here I may still just go with my eBay idea anyway, it'll be the quickest way to find three other people who want the free upgrade to gold but don't have three other friends to order with right now.

All Passes Must be Activated at Six Flags Great America ONLY BEFORE October 28th to get the Upgrade.. You MUST PUT THERE NAME on the Season Pass, but all will be mailed to the BILLING ADDRESS Only!

Also, The System will now that they were purchased as a 4 pack and the Upgrade will pretty much be an Automatic System Known Upgrade!

You don't have to "Ask" For the Upgrade, the system has Code to know "Hey, this was purchased as a 4 pack, and its before the 28th... Make it a Gold Pass"

What if one person doesn't make it to the park before the deadline? Can the other 3 still get their upgrade and the 4th person just won't get it? Don't want one person messing up everyone's deal lol.

Also the shipping only to the billing address is no big deal. I was just looking at the order process and "print at home" is an option for free anyway. I would print them out and mail them for free to whoever else gets on board.

Just doing some preliminary math now.

Four passes 273.75
5% back if I use my Discover card
brings it down to 260.07
divided to four people = 65.02 each
free shipping
(by the way 5% back only brings us back to the initial 64.99 price range because I'm factoring in the 5.99 convenience fee you pay for ordering)

But as I said above, if I put the other 3 on eBay to make it easier/safer for other people to buy them from me, I'd have to adjust for whatever percentage eBay is going to take from me. eBay takes 9% these days  , PayPal takes 2.9% + 0.30 per transaction.

That's up to everyone else really. If people want the safety of completing this deal through eBay, I''d have to pass the 12% in fees over to the other 3 buyers, I can't pay for that myself. If people want to just trust each other with all our contact info, we won't go through ebay, and I can get multiple people in for $65.02 thanks to the Discover discount.

I would be up to be in for a pass, with a COD arrangement at the park of course.

I think as soon as you process any of the 4 passes it will be a gold pass, so if one or 2 people miss the deadline, then they are stuck with just regular passes, anyone who processes prior to the deadline is fine. When you buy them you'll be handed 4 vouchers.

Wow, those are some great parks especially SFOT & SFMM. New Texas Giant, Mr. Freeze, a bobsled, X2, Riddler's Revenge, Ninja. Have tons of fun!

I could do that too. If made it in on your list, then let me know via PM and let me know when you want to meet at the park. I will probably be there for Fright Fest some time anyway, and I can make a Friday any time.

If everyone prefers to meet up at the park to do the transaction then it might make more sense to just go act as a group of people and buy them in person and bypass this whole ordering online through one person business. I don't wanna order online now, get $200+ put on my credit card balance, and then be working through October to try to find a day when everyone is able to meet and pay me. The park is only open the 1st 2nd 3rd 8th and 9th in the near future and I'm not sure if I was planning to make it out or not. Any later than that, i.e. waiting until the end of September when they reopen, I don't wanna be waiting to get money from people that long. I'd wait to make the order until later in September then. It's fine with me if either A) people want to promise that they can meet one of these next two weekends or B) we'll all still order together but you want me to hold off to order until the Fright Fest dates start up.

If anyone is willing to do Paypal, let me know. I have a verified account with a confirmed address and they don't just let people get away with stealing money. Just by sending me a payment it's going to show you my name and address and I'm going to be liable to get you what you paid for. If anyone wants to agree to do it electronically, as soon as we have 4 people, I can order, print, mail vouchers the same day, and we can all get to the park to process them at our own convenience instead of having to meet. I'm waiting for an answer from a friend in WI who might need one, so I might need as few as 2 people, but I am willing to help a group of 5 or 6 if needed.

I can totally understand people hesitant to pay right away but you have to understand the flip side is that I'm going to be ordering passes filled out for specific names and addresses, so if someone backs out I can't just sell it to someone else or eat the expense myself either. We'd all have something to lose here. I'm too lazy to try to scam a few people out of $65 online lol. Just another enthusiast who doesn't know enough people to have a group of 4 for myself and trying to get in on this deal.

I understand if nobody feels comfortable to pay this way then I guess it would make more sense to just meet at the park, unless the same promotions are not being offered in person, or if it would be hard to prove that we aren't just 4+ separate people trying to get in on the group deal. I dunno how much they watch out for that. They wouldn't just take 4 strangers in line and encourage them to get the group deal.

Alexlohan - this is your thread afterall, I didn't mean to hijack the discussion haha. If you are cool working through Paypal, awesome. Or if you want to spearhead the group that decides to meet in person, you can take charge of that and I'll hold out to see who wants to work electronically. It's up to you. As you said, the trick about meeting at the park is that we'd all be paying parking and possibly admission to get in and meet because we wouldn't have our passes processed yet.

For anyone who might want to get on board electronically, I just wanted to share this. Proof of what the pricing will be with tax and the convenience surcharge. (note, this image does not take into account the 5% savings from Discover. It won't show that until I get later in the checkout process)

Image

Also if we work through Paypal, each transaction I receive, Paypal takes 2.9% plus 30 cents (you can confirm these fees here https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/merchant_fees ). Assuming everything works out with using the Discover card, the total should be brought down to 260.07. That's 65.02 each. For me to net the honest 65.02 that I need from everyone, you would commit to sending me 67.26. 30 cents less than that is 66.96, and the 2.9% that Paypal will take of 66.96 is 1.94. Leaving 65.02 in my Paypal. I think I can handle 3 stamps and envelopes to ship your voucher for free. Anyone who wants to add 45 cents for a stamp can.

Please note on the image I posted, the shopping cart seems to include one free 2012 one-day parking pass, presumably so people can come and process their paperwork. This makes me wonder again if they actually prefer your entire group to be there on the same day for processing, but hopefully not. Obviously I cannot tear this pass into 4 pieces so we can all use it, so in the interest of honesty, I would likely keep this for myself. I don't know if you go process your paperwork if you can ask to have your parking refunded for that day or if they will ask why you didn't come with your group and use the parking pass. Maybe I can try to call the ticketing hotline I saw on the site this weekend, or if anyone else can, or if someone already knows, please confirm that we won't all have to process on the same day.

Also just to point out if I was here to be dishonest or profit off of anyone, I wouldn't have mentioned that I can pass on the 5% Discover savings to everyone. I could have just charged full price and pocketed a few bucks for myself.

Alexlohan if you're down for this, great. My friend in WI said he was only interested in getting a pass if I absolutely needed him for a 4th person. So for right now let's just say we have 2 for certain. As I said I am willing to hold out for as little as four people, but if number five and six come along, I'm not gonna say "too bad find another group". I'll do as many as I can handle. I would offer to do the maximum ten, but I don't really feel like charging $650. But hey I guess if people get me the money it doesn't really matter. I don't wanna leave anyone out who wants in. Us people who can't even find 3 friends to go with us need to stick together!

I'd really like to order soon but I do want to help out as many people as possible. Let's see who else wants in over the next couple days.

I can make it to the park pretty much any non week day, or any fri during fright fest, feel free to PM me.

As for the 4 pack, they call it the family pack, but it's really just a 4 pack, they don't check or care about anything, if 4 are bought at one time, that's all it takes, names aren't checked, no questions are asked, none of that.

Oh, I see what they are doing with the 2012 parking. They are allowing you to go in for free with parking for the day you are getting the pass. I think the reason for that was because I think people wanted refunds for paying for parking even though they were getting a parking pass that day. That's a good idea.

Thanks for doing that phone research! I hate making phone calls so thanks! haha

Okay so we don't all have to process together, and it's confirmed that unfortunately I only get one 2012 parking pass when I order online so I can't pass that little benefit onto everyone.

Alexlohan to address your concern, if we get 4 people confirmed I have no problem ordering ASAP and getting it all sent out. I'd like to get it over with too so I can have my voucher available just in case I decide I want to go to one of the remaining regular season days before Frightfest. If you'd like to be able to use this for your visit on the 8th, I have no problem trying to get it done by then as long as we have 4 ready to go.

You bring up an interesting point that I could probably just send people their vouchers as an email attachment for anyone who wants to print it themselves and bypass waiting for snail mail. Especially if we decided to order this weekend because we have two non-mail days coming up with Sunday and then the holiday, so that would slow everything down. As long as I don't encounter any problems trying to attach it to an email, I have no problem doing it that way.

The rest is up to everyone else. It does sound like we still have some people who prefer to meet at the park and pay together instead. On the other hand it sounds like we have (me) Android, alexlohan, and scott2608 ready and waiting for a 4th to make an online order and willing to work with me through Paypal.

I'll check back in throughout the weekend and if we can manage to get a 4th for the online group then I may just make that the cutoff and complete the order because it sounds like we all want our passes soon.

Alright I've established email contact with alexlohan and he's ready to order asap.

scott2608 if you're definitely interested and you're comfortable with the Paypal transaction maybe shoot me a PM too with your email.

As I just finished explaining to alex in my email to him, the process will be, once I have 3 people interested, I will log onto Paypal, send out 3 payment requests from there. I'll write a little note along with the money request asking if you want me to try to send your voucher as an email attachment or print it out and mail it to you US mail. Also with the payment you'll have to send me the info I need to accurately order your season pass. You can provide all that info in the little Note box that comes along with the PayPal payment, or email me separately, whichever. At that point, the speed with which we can proceed depends on how quickly all 3 people respond to the money request. As soon as I have 3 out of 3, I'll go on the Six Flags website, order, print, and email/mail the vouchers. If we all have working emails and printers it's fine with me to try to do it all by email. I'm assuming the vouchers will just be a text or image file that I'll have no problem attaching to an email.

I'll check back later today and see if scott2608 is definitely our #3 and if we have a lucky #4 yet.

EDIT: Also sorry to go back on my previous offer to help as many as possible but for this group I think I better just do the minimum 4. My Discover card is already in more pain than I thought lol I can only free up enough room to charge for a group of 4.

Lol yeah it does seem like we are discussing brain surgery rather than trying to get 4 people to order some passes.

Short version: We now have 3 people ready to order online as a group of 4 and send me their payment through Paypal. Just waiting on a 4th person. We had a few other members who expressed interest in getting the gold pass discount but didn't sound like they wanted to use Paypal, so perhaps they will end up having a second group who want to meet at the park and deal in cash.
