2013 Season Passes Go On Sale August 30th

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

New in 2013, all of the Six Flags parks will be offering a Gold Pass which includes early entry at SFGAm and Hurricane Harbor, and unlimited free parking at all Six Flags parks.

Reading the full description, this sounds like a revamped Xtreme pass. Still no word yet on the Dining Pass returning or not. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because walking to Burger King takes a lot of time.

I'm not going to use this, but this to me is really stupid to not have it available at the park: "Please note that the monthly payment plan is only available online and cannot be purchased at the park."

For the Gold Pass, it really just sounds like what Cedar Point does. You can get the pass without "free" parking, or you can get the pass with parking, and you get small perks. The Xtreme Pass to me was more over the top with things you got like free Flash passes, extra ERT, and cheaper prices for the upcharge stuff. It seems to me that didn't work too good, or they would list it.

I wonder if you just get a regular season pass, does that mean that you can't go to the other parks for free just like Cedar Points cheaper passes? I have a feeling that's what they are doing.

Let me get this straight:

They want to reward you for being a former season pass holder with this:

"To further show our appreciation, for the first time ever, we would like to offer each and every current Pass Holder the opportunity to buy a 2013 Season Pass at a discount. For a family of four, this represents an additional $20 total off the already discounted 4 Pack price. When you buy your 2013 Season Passes online, you’ll be able to enter your 2012 ID number to receive the discount."

But yet they won't allow you to get the upgrade to Gold Pass because that has to be processed at the park??? If you can get both, that's very, very confusing..
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

Whats confusing? Its telling you to RENEW 4 or more season passes for 2013 and get $20 off the already discounted price... Activate them THIS YEAR before Oct 28, and they will convert them to GOLD passes....

^It's confusing because to get them free upgrade to gold, they say you must process at the park, but to get $20 off of 4, they say something about online purchase.

"offering a free upgrade to Gold (which includes free parking!) for everyone who buys four or more regular Season Passes and processes their IDs at the park by October 28, 2012."

"an additional $20 total off ...When you buy your 2013 Season Passes online, you’ll be able to enter your 2012 ID number to receive the discount."

To me, it sounds like you either can do one or the other. Buy it at the park, and than get gold, or buy it online, and get $20 off 4 passes.

this whole thing about getting a gold pass free if you buy 4 or more passes before oct 28th is just going to be bad....just cause the benifits for the gold pass everyone is going to go and do this and now season passes have to wait like park guests to get into the waterpark? that is just stupid they should let passes in at same time and allow the gold members to go through the extreme pass entrance

This is not complicated.

If you buy 4 or more 2013 passes and process them at the park by Oct. 28, you get the free gold pass upgrade and free parking. Buy online or in the park.

Payment plan is only available online. You want it, buy online.

Current passholders buying 4 or more for 2013 get the $20 discount. It doesn't say you have to buy online to get that the way I read it, just that you can use your 2012 ID online to prove you are a current passholders. I assume you can show your 2012 pass in person and get the same deal at the park as long as you buy 4 or more.

Looks like it's possible to get all these perks for 2013 to me.

I love this offer. The free upgrade is probbly only good for this year, but great way to get people hooked on the Gold Pass perks. I have been hoping for morning ERT like CF. Not everyone is going to get to Fright Fest to get the free upgrade, not everyone is going buy 4 passes, and some people just won't want the higher pass cost who miss the offer, so getting in early should be awesome, even if it's only 1/2 an hour or something. I realize this offer favors families, but SF needs the volume in sales.
