A Week and a Half before Xmas and Rumors are abound

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on December 15th, 2003, 11:02 pm
Okay, so we've seen rumors all off season so far on: Shockwave(no big surprise there) Yet another rumor about a new territory, And the ever more famous "B&M Floorless"

When will this nonsense end? Seriously, people cant be happy with what we have? Deja Vu,American Eagle, Raging Bull etc... Are we that spolied that we need to have a new friggon coaster ever year?

People need to start using common sense and quit beleiving some dumb rumor someone posts on some secondrate "I think i know everything about Six Flags" Web site.

Lets think about this a little, If Six Flags where to get a new "Floorless" or whatever the Media(The Real News Media) wouldnt have reported it already? Instead we rely on what The Lemon Chill Girl said. Or some know-it-all that goes to Six Flags and pretends to have friends in the business and posts it here.

Lets not damage the reputation of this site with needless and unwarrneted rumors.

Huh, damage the reputation of this site?

It's the offseason, discussion is slow and pointless rumors are bound to be talked about. That's what happens during the offseason usually.

This year the rumors aren't half as wild as some of the rumors that went around last year. And I haven't even seen many rumors talked about on these forums recently, so I don't know what you read to make you post this.

^Well I really dont know how to respond to that but in a way I agree with you, I mean if this rumor never came up about "Wave Runner" I'd be perfectly happy and not change my feelings about anything. Why cant you be happy with what we have now and enjoy it. Just lower the level of the future and look what ya got right in front of you and use it to its fullest extent. So appreciate what we have and rumors are rumors. The dictionary states a rumor is a statement said to be true but not nessecarily true. So stop treating these rumor like they're true. If they are thats cool but dont just say I think its true until you have a RELIABLE source.

ru·mor    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (rmr)
n.

1. A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth.

This is what most people define a rumor to be, nothing short of an interesting conversation..... So let the offseason rumors start, even though they already have!! LOL :D

Offseason rumors are bound to happen, and should be allowed, as long as they are kept in check. This offseason does not seem to be as insane as last year.

Ahh yes, the solo support lol. So many of us thought we were getting a custom flyer (even I had thought it may be true). It was hard to tell from that picture though, you have to admit... ;)

Well the rumors that I had heard were 4 new flats. I don't know what they are, but I would thinka good target location would be the Power Dive area and the Cajun Cliffhanger area.

This rumor about the new themed area is a little far fetched I think.

Oh, we're definitely getting flats this year. Though I can't say what or where. Just know Cajun Cliffhanger and Power Dive's lots will be filled. Look for Hometown Fun Machine to be gone shortly as well.

Galvan what does a rumor have to do with someone being satisfied with what the park has? The media wouldnt have a report on the new rides because the park releases that information in the first month or so of the year. A whole rumor or even bits and pieces of it that were stated here seem like they could be true. I think if someone has a reasonable rumor and wants to share ir then they should but if its off the wall then theres no point in saying it. Just because someone says a rumor doesnt mean they believe it.

What is this rumor about a new territory? It doesnt seem logical since SF doesnt have a lot of spending money. If they were planning on making a new one then where would it be? You heard them say they have no more expansion room so does a new territory really make sense? I dont think so.

I myself love SFGAM and think we have great ride but as the saying goes ..... theres always room for improvement. Although I do agree there are some pretty crazy rumors in the offseason like last year does anyone remember the rumor about Batman getting new trains and going backwards?

Whoever made up the rumor and the people who believed the rumor and spread it should get a nice smack on the back of their head.

I just talk to my uncle bollinger and he said that they are putting batmans trains on raging bull(upside down, fun) Supermans trains are going to be put on batmans (damn some sever chest pains after that one.) They are also taking bulls trains and putting those on superman ( pretzel loop, upside down with just a lap restraint, deadly, but fun)

I agree with the Power Dive area, but there may not be enough room near Cajun Cliffhanger, but I could be wrong. :? Hmm. These are places I think the 4 new flats will go:

1. Possibly where Triple Play is. When I was at the park on the last day of Fright Fest of 2003, 2 of its 3 arms were completely removed. However, this could have been just for maintenance.

2. Where HTFM is - it's almost never open, except on weekends, and is just about as old as the park, if not older.

3. Where Power Dive is - they could possibly use the old queue if it's level with the ground. I've never been on it, so I don't know.

4. By the First Aid station where the kiddie rides used to be.

5. If anyone remembers the Haybailer, I forget where it even was, anyway, if nothing's there now, they could put something in its place.

6. Near SSA since they can easily expand a little bit and move the go-karts into where the parking lot is now. But they probably won't, because this area is never crowded and a new flat probably wouldn't attract people if it's too far out of the way.

Triple Play is under re-hab from what I have heard, so a new flat won't go there.

The spot where Haybaler was is utilized by Deja-Vu. DV takes up the spot of Haybaler and Sky Whirl's former spots.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

What about the spot next to the Demon's lift? I can't remember if that rock climbing wall is still there or not, but long ago there was a flat ride there. Maybe the could put a new flat there.
Finally Coaster Season!!
