The other day when I went to the park some guy lost his wallet on x-flight and they closed the ride down and went and got it. what happened to no lost articles being retrieved during park operation? This made my 15 minute wait a 30 minute wait.

Not going to lie- If it were my wallet, I would be very appreciative of being able to get it back right quick- as would probably anyone else. An extra 15 minutes may well have been vomit cleanup or mechanical breakdown, and isn't going to make a bit of a difference to anyone in the long run.

Probably has something to do with it being a wallet and having identification/credit cards in it. If it was a phone or something else, they may not have closed it down and went to get it.

Last Thurs someone lost their flip flops on King Chaos. Worker's searched around for them for about 10 mins before letting us on the ride while she waited by the Flashpass entrance till god knows how long

"Essential items" cause for lock-out/tag-out procedures and bringing the ride down in order to retrieve the lost item. Essential items include medicine, wallets, etc. not phones, cameras, prizes, hats...
The reason they retrieve wallets is that Six Flags is a business, and if a guest does not have their money, they cannot spend it. Also, ID's, credit cards and other information are needed.
