Coaster Counting Website

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Can you guys help me out here? I'm getting tired of putting all my info on the unreliable and crappy coaster counter app. I'm looking for a new site to use. Some of you on here have them in your signatures too. Where did you get those?

Thanks in advance!

The one that most people had in their signatures was CoasterFanatics, but I think the site has died as they haven't added any of the new coasters the last few years. I just list all of mine in a Word document. That way I don't have to worry about a site shutting down or anything like that.

I checked the forums there recently. A few people are around there, but it's not maintained; the forums have been over run with spambots. The site still works, but there have been no updates as of early last season. Many 2011 rides aren't even in there. My guess is whoever pays the bills for the site will let it lapse and everything will be lost.

I use http://coastercounter.com though. It doesn't look sophisticated, but it fills the need for keeping your track record. That's been around for a while, and the owner just upgraded to a new server and better hosting service. Considering that, it seems like it will be around for a little while, and it has been updated for the 2012 season.

I also use coaster counter/ride counter, but I also keep my own excel spreadsheet in case something happens to the website.

Coaster Counter works well, and is user updated, so it allows the app to stay up to date with info etc...

On the news section of that, they said it had to do with their hosting service. Either the person who started it didn't realize the popularity it would gain and only purchased a small plan, or it really sucked. They just moved it to a new service and they think it should be good to go. They ran the update a week or two ago. I've never experienced any problems with it, and only had issues when they were updating.

The only reason I don't use that website is that you can't count relocated coasters you've ridden in the old and new location. I've been on the Flying coaster at Elitch Gardens before it moved to Scream Zone at Coney Island, and I wouldn't be able to count that.

I know it's one credit, but eventually, I'll have 5 relocated credits, then 10, etc. And my credit count won't be up to date.
