Visiting next Saturday, a few questions

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Hi everyone, I'll be visiting the park for the first time this coming Saturday and have a few questions I hope you wouldn't mind answering for me. First of all, my friend and I bought a platinum flash pass for the day because we're expecting the crowd to be pretty large. We're really excited to ride X-flight and are wondering if it would be worth it when the gate opens to rush to the X-flight queue, ride, and then go to the flash pass office instead of just going to the flash pass office right away. Will the line be very long for the flash pass office if we decide to ride X-flight first? Also, we'd like to enjoy a few adult beverages during our visit and if we turn in our ID's for a flash pass is there any way of verifying we are of age to buy a few beers when we're there? The website says that we're only allowed to reserve 1 ride on X-flight but I read somewhere that they changed it to 2 rides, is this true? I really am looking forward to this trip. Thanks for your help!

Edit: Also, I plan on wearing flip-flops to the park. For rides like Batman, Superman, Vertical Velocity, and X-flight do they have storage bins on the platform I can put them in during the ride so I don't have to worry about them falling off?

The Flash Pass line gets long early on. If you're excited about X-Flight though, it would probably be worth the trip over there since the line will be short early on. I think it's also only available on the Platinum Flash Pass, so you did good there. This will give you plenty of time later in the day to ride whatever you want.

Those rides you asked about do have bins in the station for loose article like flip flops and stuff. This of course is at your own risk and the park is not liable if anything is stolen.

X Flight does 2 reservations now for the Flash Pass. As for flip flops you can routinely walk over 12 miles so unless you are really young and have feet of stone flip flops can kill your feet. I dunno, for me, I wear my cross trainers all the time.

As for X Flight, they don't put the chain on the right hand side anymore to discourage the running of the X Flight, so you can mosey right over to the ride before the park opens. Do that and then get your flash pass. Oh, and the platinum flash pass doesn't work on V2 - in terms of ride twice in a row - and X Flight as well I'd assume.

They probably upped it to 2 reservations because the line for X-Flight hasn't seem to be that long honestly. I have never waited more than 30 minutes for it.

Platinum definitely seems excessive in my opinion. Its gonna be in the 90's this Saturday .. I think the park will have average crowds and most will be in the water park. If anything, head out there in the early to mid afternoon - and stay until close. The park always seems to get quieter after 5-6.

Then again - I guess I go a few times a year. I used to do Gold flash pass a few years ago because the waits even on busy days were only a few minutes, scan into the ride, instantly queue for another ride and its ready the time you are done riding the current ride.

Sorry, but what exactly do you mean here? This will be my first visit to a Six Flags park so I'm not familiar with their opening procedures. Is there only 1 way to enter the park, at the main gate? As far as flip flops go I'm not worried about it, I've got a nice pair of Reefs that I wore for 2 straight days to Cedar Point last year and my feet didn't bother me at all. Riding an invert barefoot feels so amazing. Thanks for your advice!

Previously, lines would form to get through the turnstiles at the main gate. About 9:30, they start letting people in the front to avoid long lines into the gates. They had chains setup on both sides under the railroad tracks to hold the public from the rest of the park (right side past the Pictorium entrance and left by King Chaos). Only for S:UF could people could line up before the entrance to get in line for a ride, the rest would wait at the gates. Then at 10, there would be a mad dash to get in early on their favorite rides. Recently, they have been foregoing the chains under the tracks and letting people lining up in front of the ride queues with a good portion of the crowd heading straight for X-Flight.
