Full schedule analysis.

May:
This year, the first May weekday is a Friday instead of a Thursday. So loose one day there. The rest of May is the same as last year.

June:
The third Friday in June is 10:00-8:00 instead of 10:00-9:00. All other hours are the same.

July:
July 4th is open 10:00-11:00 this year instead of 10:00-10:00. All other hours are the same.

August:
The third Sunday in August is 10:00-9:00 instead of 10:00-10:00. The park is open on Monday August 27th from 10:00-6:00. So add one day there. All other hours are the same.

September:
The park is closed the third Saturday in September, last year the third Saturday in September was 10:00-8:00. Regular season ends on Sunday September 9th.

Fright Fest:
Fright Fest starts Saturday September 29th. Although at first glance this appears to be an extension, it is not. Fright Fest is still only 5 weekends. This is because October only has 4 weekends this year. Fright Fest hours are the same as last year with one major change. The park will be open on Thursday October 25th 6:00-10:00.

I think this will be the first year in a while where the park isn't open on the third Saturday in September. And about Fright Fest, the range for Closing Day is usually from about Oct 27-Nov 2, so this is normal.

Blegh worst year for scheduling. I guess the reason the park is probably opening up late is x-flight. That and the fact that they would be wasting more money rather than making more money if they were to open in april. April is dead anyway...good for us enthusiasts, no lines...bad for the park, lose more money not enough business. I feel also like winter will leave late this year so april may be chillier than usual. Also really disappointed this year FrightFest will only last until the sunday before Halloween. Halloween is on a wednesday this year. I think with the addition of x-flight the park could definitely benefit in opening early. If x-flight does open opening day then,

OPENING WEEKEND IS GONNA BE A NIGHTMARE!!!!   :x :x :x :( :( :o :o

^ I really do not get why you are surprised about anything. This schedule is practically identical to last year's schedule.

What are you talking about in terms of "Opening up Late"??? The park opens the first weekend in May (for the most part) every season. If you're talking about the early opening they tried with Spring Breaks and all.....it failed and the park will never do it again. They didn't have the crowds and the staffing is so tight at that time too. Not to mention, early April weather is such a toss up every year that why risk doing something until you're sure that the weather will begin to at least cooperate.

Are we really trying to analyze down to the nano-second how much a differential it is from hours this year from last year? Let's just be thankful the park is still around and opening for another season. They always adjust hours here and there depending on the need it seems.

Im not a six flags veteran. I only started going to the park in around 2007/2008 so I am not familiar with how long the park has been opening up in May. I know there was one year the park opened the last week or two in April. Was that in 2009? I thought April was the normal time frame for the park opening. Don't blame me for not going to the park for years and years. Im not 30 or 40 years old here. I understand how sketchy the weather in April is and like I said, the park is a ghost town in April so they would end up losing more money in the big picture. I don't work at the park, I'm not some some Six Flags fanboy or am obsessed with the park, I like talking about the park and going when I feel like it but don't make my life revolve around SFGAm. Bedsides, what else could we talk about since someone posted a thread devoted solely to the SFGAm operating schedule. "Oh...thats nice...the park is opening in May like usual. Lets make a whole thread devoted to the hours and not expect anyone to make an observation. Only positive comments are allowed. Yes lets do that..."  But yes I would hope we are all glad the park is opening up another season.
