Now for the same price as a one-day ticket, $59.99, the Summer Thrill Pass gives you unlimited visits to Six Flags Great America until September 17. It's your ticket to a summer of coasters, shows, slides, and screams. The new Summer Thrill Pass gives you unlimited visits to Six Flags Great America for the entire summer through September 17. While a Summer Thrill Pass doesn't include benefits like free tickets for friends, visits to other Six Flags parks or a Value Book with in-park discounts, it's a great way to visit the park all summer for the same price as a general admission ticket!
Not a bad deal if you don't care about Fright Fest or leave the area. I doubt you can add parking, but there is always parking at Gurnee Mills and taking the bus.
Interesting! Sounds like a slimmed down play-pass that you can get at other parks. Should be interesting to see how many people get these and if they will carry over into the 2012 season.
Don't fight the Bull, ride the Bull!
Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"
While this seems like a great value for the customer, it seems like the park is trying to "give away" admission! I'd also like to think that the majority of the people at this point who go to the park on a regular basis already have season passes. It sounds like a trial/error thing that eventually could move to a tiered pass system, similar to what CF uses.
^Sort of they are trying to give it away, and sort of not. The thing is that most people go for discounts, but this is like paying full price admission for one time, and get almost all the year free except October. So, you might have people going for $20 off in which they are getting a discount, or buy one get one free instead of going for just full price admission. Basically if you have a pool near you, they might have a half of a season pass, and this is what it sounds like. And someone might say, well if it's a half of a season pass, why are they starting at the beginning of July? It's because they aren't including October. That's about half of a season.
And about them giving it away, I forgot exactly how much money it was for my season pass earlier on, but it seemed like it was only about $55. So, these people are paying more than what I paid - not by much, but a little more.
Six Flags admission prices though are a steal. I wish I could go Kings Island, and get this $60 thing for how many times I want to go there when I'm on vacation.
On another unrelated note: I like how Six Flags disguises the amount of time they have for fireworks. They say "...celebration with a 45 minute choreographed fireworks show and patriotic-themed Glow in the Park Parade" So, basically stage show and Glow in the Park Parade is 30 minutes, and fireworks is 15 minutes! lol
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
^ WOW you called it they did exactly what you said they had a few small fireworks during the parade by hometown square could see them at the smoke spot between cyber cafe and the bathroom by superman UF, it was a awesome spot to see the main event.
15 min of fireworks and 45 min to get out of the parking lot OUCH, the show was good, I think it was worth it with the season pass no rides today and live 10 away, would not pay extra for this though.
BTW I paid $154 with fees and taxes for the season pass with parking in JUNE online.
