John the park president said they were working with a designer so yea we'll probably see something in the theming department.
He also said that small midway might be rethemed to tie in with demon which is cool but part of me wishes they still kept going with the county fair theme. It is "Great America" after all.
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
I certainly agree that Rapterra had a leg up in theming decisions. John specifically mentioned audio for the lift hill and wanting a grand portal but it definitely sounded like those things were not set in stone at the time. All we really have right now is the statement from NCC and it looked like the gift shop had some light theming. I'm trying to keep my expectations low, mostly because it seems like they didn't have a lot of time to finalize these things. But they could easily do a solid job and that would make me super happy

The training for low level park ops is quick because most of the stuff that applies to all rides is handled weeks before while training for each specific ride is typically a day or two. Especially the roller coasters which follow the same general procedures and they only need to go over what is specific to that particular Coaster.
Keep in mind that SFGAm ~may~ be moving to iROC this season. Other legacy Six Flags parks were confirmed to be moving to iROC, but I don't believe SFGAm was listed. I feel like it would make sense for it to come to all parks, not just select parks. If someone knows for sure, please let me know. I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything. If SFGAm is indeed moving to iROC, that adds an extra level of training that is completely new.
I seriously hope this doesn't happen, IROC is terrible and overreaching from what I have heard, if this gets implemented we can kiss our well known good operations goodbye, as well as rerides!
Some time, on way to successful, first of steps of all of the steps to being successful steps are hardest of all of the steps to successing.
^ Awesome! It’s not even fully complete and it’s already so tall. You can see it in the traffic camera too, I couldn’t tell if it was track or a crane.

I may or may not have applied there so i may or may not find out

Yep. Looking more and more like it was a good decision for them to take a few days off when it was cold and icy. The weather is supposed to be great all week. They should get a lot of work done.

The part next to The Lobster is still there. Other side of bridge is still covered over so not sure if it’s coming back once all the track work is done.

The creek/pond will come back. That pond feeds to X Flight and Demon. They aren’t going to leave all that empty and without water. It may not be the size it was before, but it will be back in some way, shape or form. It’s vital to the park!

Next to Demon Snacks it doesn't necessarily need to come back. The first park of the construction work was them getting the site ready where they put in hugh water pipes into the ground befiore it got covered so it nay just bewater iover by the bridge now and thats where it will start and not have the pond that was over there anymore.

Goku1910 wrote:The render means nothing. It still has the small game building in it, but not Demon Snacks. Both of which the opposite is true.
Why else put a pipe there? It seems to me they are moving where the creek starts.
Well the only one that knows for certain is the park. This is the first I’m hearing about these so called “pipes”. It could be for drainage or sewers. I’d still put my money on the pond returning in some way shape or form. But that’s just my opinion.
Goku1910 wrote:The more construction has gone on, the more I begin to doubt it.
I'd love to eat my words, but at the least I expect the pond to be much smaller.
Again, the pond and creek in that area feeds the ponds in X Flight and Whizzer. It’s why those areas were dry once construction started Some form of pond or creek will return in that area in some way shape or form.
John just spent 5 minutes talking about landscaping and park upkeep. They aren’t getting rid of. Where exactly this pond will start remains to be seen and likely on John (and others involved) know the answer too.
Dude, I'm not disagreeing on the fact that it feeds Whizzer and X-Flight. I already know this. It runs from there behind the lobster, under the Southwest bridge, to Whizzer, then drains by Hometown Fun Machine.
From there it returns to the retention pond and recycles.
What I am simply stating is that:
1) The pond will be smaller.
or
2) The Creek will now start from the pipe we saw them add on the other side of the bridge. In other words, it'll be shorter.
Instead of replying to myself, I'd rather edit this one since it's the most recent. Looks like maybe the exit side of the immelmann is installed.

The Immelmann will be done by today. Unfortunately it looks like they might be on lunch right now and I can’t stick around to wait for them to put up the final piece that if you look closely, you can see it hanging.

Man, that Immelmann is quite tall! I can't wait to see it done!
