Also -- has anyone considered how 'close' the removed theater is to the tollway? The reason I mention this is that it's always seemed unfortunate when the taller, more "woah, look at THAT!" rides end up being constructed in the back of the park. This spot seems like a perfect place to put in a Sky Screamer (and other stuff) or a taller coaster that would really pop from the tollway. I know it's probably impossible to gauge how much actual value there it to this, but how great would it be to have Goliath on the west side of the park?

I know they hadn't used it in awhile anyway, but wouldn't it had made more sense to finally bulldoze Wilderness and (perhaps) renovate this one? Or maybe they just don't want any open-air venue and will eventually bullet the Wilderness as well?
I think we all know why now they did not tear out the Wilderness. I suspect back in 2013 when they started building Goliath they already knew that SWAT was going to be removed for a Dark Ride. So they wanted to keep Wilderness for Special Events.
Wait, didn't they tear down a couple of walls on the amphitheater? Why would you tear down walls to make a building? I'm sorry, but I still don't see a dark ride coming to this space. It could be used much better by a new coaster or a couple of flats. I would much rather see JL in Pictorium and they expand the building and remove the gift shop. I don't think this "new capital" will be the JL some of us thinks.

The Amphitheater is TOTALLY gone now. So (assuming they are building JL there) they never planned to use the existing building, it's just for the space.
Lots of people keep saying to use the Pictorium, but we really have no idea if that was ever feasible due to the size and age of the building, and I suspect they want to keep that spot open for future water park expansion.
I've thought from the beginning that Justice League made perfect sense for a new ride, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that is the ride, but if that ends up being it then I'd be kind of annoyed by teasers that clearly implied a coaster. If they thought they were being all cute by doing loop stuff when they really meant a "virtual loop", meh.
You did not just bye Felicia him. Honestly, get the fxxk out of here. I've read/caught up on this thread from my little absence & you have been nothing but an annoyance to this conversation. Idfc what you know or think you know. I don't care if it's a ride, a coaster or a shop. If you're right, you aren't going to receive a medal from Great America or get praised by anyone on here. If you're wrong, you made an ass of yourself. But see you thought you'd go into this the smart way & just "smile & nod" to any damn thing anyone says so no matter what, you'll praise yourself in thinking you knew all all along but - I'm not feeding into your superhero picturing posting antics. Your ignorant trolling doesn't fool me.
To everyone else, I'm sorry but I had to say something I can't stand this BS. Let us speculate, no matter how far off it may be. That's the fun in this. We will all find out on Sept. 3rd & then we get to talk about that topic. But don't come on here or any forum acting like you're above any one person by knowing (or not knowing a damn thing) any info on an addition/news for the park. I'm not going to think you're cool, you're just going to annoy me. I know people at the park but I never say I do let alone ask them for information cause it's foolish.
What it comes down to is I am excited for the chain wide announcements regardless of what we are getting.
It does not seem like they altered the layouts much on all the JL they build... as long as they can build the main building, they can build the cue building anywhere they want and still make it look like the others... I can imagine however, they would want that affect of walking into SWT from Demon and seeing the front of the JL Building... I suppose it could fit... If you assume they shift over the access road... they do have some space to work with I guess
agreed. even though six flags has a reputation for leaking info, I think the fake news page is their little cruel way of trying to mess with us. I mean, how easy would i be for six flags to make a fake page and keep it up there for a few minutes? It takes like 10 minutes...

Agree that's such a big waste of land for a low capacity dark ride with wait times of more than an hour or more. It could easily be used for a huge coaster or even a couple of flat rides. Well just have to wait and see on announcement day.

I feel like this forum has turned into a challenge of who can say the dumbest comment.
Yes a Dark Ride won't have great capacity, But when you look at other Dark Rides that are added to parks with higher attendance, It negates your point:
From Official Park/Company Websites:
Justice League- 8, 6 Passenger Cars- 48 At a Time Wonder Mountain Guardian- 5, 8 Passenger Cars- 40 At a Time
Plus on the positive side (Something that is in short supply here), It's replacing something that has been useless since 2008? So they're adding capacity to the park.
Please everyone stop complaining. I swear you guys are worse than Facebook.
Well, I'm very happy that we're getting a new attraction, even if it isn't the giga coaster we've all been dreaming about. I'm hopeful that someday they'll build a gigantic coaster or pair of coasters in Yukon / Mardi Gras through the existing Log Flume area / Roaring Rapids. I don't know for sure but I think they could make these new coasters work without hurting the ride experience on the others.
98% of people on here have "heard" me say that. Parks CAN make coasters work without losing any rides. Sometimes they even simply relocate rides within the park too.
In SF terms, Goliath at SFOG if a grey example of a giant coasters crossing over rides without removing them. But my fav example of craziness of "coaster stacking" is GronaLund
