It definitely was 2002. Shockwave was in the process of coming down and it's track was kept in the parking lot right around where the MCBR and batwing element would have been. We took a quick sightseeing trip to the employee parking lot to take a gander at some red B&M track.
yeah, the park is often open a day or 2 in Nov when halloween falls on a fri or sat, the park will remain open for the entire weekend. In 2002, well after halloween they opened for a weekend where they did not advertise it at all. Parking, admission, food, merch, games, everything was half price, and other than the fact the weather barely went above freezing the entire weekend, good times were had by all except for the park of course since they never topped 1000 people either day, employees vastly outnumbered guests.

I would love to see 1,000 employees at work in one day at Great America Think - they could get trains out on time, have an employee to fill in singles on the B&M rides, etc etc., run both side of American Eagle until the end of the night. The food/pop stands could have more than one window open...
So how much money do you make at Fright Fest. Thinking about doing it this year if I can find a cheap place to stay on the weekends.

Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.

Watch, it will be Terror Twister because of the lights and music. That's already somewhat like a club.
Who cares about the club really when they say take a train ride - HELLO - The haunted train must be coming back!! It's about time they wake up and bring back one of the best haunted attractions at the park!

I remember this day, i heard about it on the radio, they advertised it on the radio like the DAY before... We went, it was super cold, but well worth it! Everything was Half Price, the Lines were Extremely Short. Road Raging Bull 6 Times in a row and they didn't even make me get out of my seat!!! It rocked
That's great news about the haunted train. I reamember back in the early 90's when they had this it was great! I was young so maybe that's why it was good. You had actors jumping on and off the train performing skits. Actors chasing other actors around the woods. Now my kids can enjoy this ride if it's as good as it was back then.
Does the park have the picture up of Susan Rosen this year or does anybody know if she is coming back again. I have look around the internet but could not find out anything about her shows and where she will be.
She says all signs point to yes, she will be there.
