I don't think you understand it's brakes, then. They are magnetic, no mechanical parts in them. A couple of years ago, magnetic brakes did fail on one of the Superman: Ride of Steels, but it wasn't a pure magnetic brake, it had a mechanical part to raise them. As far as I know, that is the only accident with magnetic brakes, ever. Remove the mechanical portion, and you have the most failsafe brake system ever that can't bring anything to a complete stop. There will never be a day where the eddy currents just decide to stop making themselves, therefore there will never be a day where Giant Drop will need to close because of brakes.Oh, eddy currents are what causes the force opposing direction of travel when you try to slide magnets through certain kinds of metal.
