Really? The worlds first inverted coaster isn't a classic. I'd say it is.
How many identical B:TRs are there around? I rather have something semi-unique over a ride that is at seven parks. If we judge a classic on firsts then Iron Wolf is another classic that shouldn't have left (first B&M, former tallest/fastest stand-up). I think the GP will want Demon over B:TR if it came down to one going.
So what if it's identical. Batman actually has a line, it doesn't hurt as much as demon, and is a coaster landmark (clarification?). Demon never has a line and I went on it once in the past couple years because half the park was shut down due to power outage (and it still had almost no line!!). It's painful
And iron wolf. That coaster was a mistake by B&M. I know it was their first but everyone realized how crappy it was. (I feel bad for SFA). Overall, a first B&M. Yea. A big company. I'll give you that But a revolutionary coaster design. It's close. And at least batman has themeing

I couldn't care less about which coaster leaves the park next as long as it is replaced with something quickly. My point with Demon if everyone would chill out is that for many it is their first coaster that actually went upside down and it holds a lot more memories for many versus B:TR. (And we know how people tend to be sentimental over rides). Yes, the ride line on Demon is shorter than almost all other rides but it probably holds the most amount of memories next to Whizzer. My point originally is that I still see people being more sentimental in the future over Demon leaving versus B:TR. If that opinion strikes you as odd that's fine, it's an opinion.
Also I don't think Six Flags gives a crap about a coaster landmark. Sure it looks nice to have a plaque but SF wants profit and will do what it takes to make money and a plaque isn't going to keep bringing tons of money and people in for a park. Again this is an opinion and if you don't agree we don't have to go blasting it out of the water.
Demon was my first upside coaster but I still don't care about it. As soon as I was tall enough I rode everything else instead. It's just a mediocre Arrow. The theming has always been great but i remember it most for getting my head bashed around, it getting stuck upside down, and for trains crashing into each other. I still think they should keep/re-purpose the scenery and build a better coaster to complement it.
Demon was my first coaster...ever. although I have many good memories from that coaster, I've heard its a maintenance nightmare (clarification?), and in my opinion, it has gotten rougher and less fun over the past few years. Also given the low crowds, the lines are microscopic. I believe micro-lines are one of the reasons iron wolf was moved as well. That being said, if you enjoy demon, get your rides in.

^ It is extremely rough on the corkscrews and when I got off, a bunch of people said they hated the ride. Every other coaster's line was about 15-60 minutes yesterday, but Demon's station was almost empty when I got there.
I would not miss SUF one bit. Such a bore of a ride.
I know the flumes are historic, but they are just not needed.
Pictorium.
Not a ride, but the Cirque Electrique could go and then a new coaster could straddle the midway, Roaring Rapids and behind Roaring Rapids.
And finally, let's get rid of the absolutely ridiculous and outrageously unnecessary trim brakes on Eagle red, which are now super strong at the beginning AND at the end of the helix. I love Eagle Red with all my heart and those trim brakes I experienced yesterday were just awful.
Getting Rid Of Every Water Ride Except Roaring Rapids, Went On Loggers Run This Week For The First Time, It Wasn't Pleasant. I Must Agree With The Usual "Buccaneer Battle Should Be Removed" And "Go Karts Are Unnecessary" Because They Truly Are. While It Wouldn't Fit With The Theme, I Think Little Dipper (If Possible) Should Be Moved To RC's Old Spot. They Would Have Enough Space To Build A Fantastic Coaster Ride, Maybe Even 2 Coasters? I Think This Would Benefit Them In The Long Run. Maybe In A Couple Years?
What is this with all the log flume hate? If we get rid of those all we will have for water rides are Buccaneer Battle and the Rapids. The only thing bad about the flumes is that the channel that you travel pre-lift is extremely ugly. Otherwise they are pretty unique and very tall for a flume ride.
I would say get rid of Goliath. Its seen better days and is really decreasing in ridership.
Joking. I say Go-karts and BB like everyone else.
1. Bizarro 2. Expedition GeForce 3. X2 4. Top Thrill Dragster 5. El Toro 6. Goliath (SFGAm) 7. Millennium Force 8. Silver Star 9. Apollo's Chariot 10. Goliath (SFOG)

Don't forget about X-Flight. It developed the signature B&M rattle. Time to sell it and bring back the antique cars

I still think X-Flight could've been built around the antique cars with little change to either layout.

I have a soft spot for the antique cars but I don't think there's enough space there for all of them. With Demon's footprint, X-flight's footprint, X-flight's queue lines, and the train tracks, there isn't any space to do an antique cars station, queue lines, continuous loop, maintenance shed, etc).
If you haven't already, look at it on google maps. They've squeezed a lot into that space.

It may have been able to, but I'll bet another factor in taking them out was the cost of gasoline.

I'd strongly disagree with this even if there were eleventy Batman The Ride(s) within walking distance of SFGAm. A good ride is a good ride- there is no such thing as a pissing match about how rare or unique Park A's coasters are when compared to Park B's coasters except between coaster enthusiasts, and (in some cases) a park's marketing department*. I've not yet ridden Goliath, so I can't say anything as to whether or not it's intense (I have a good idea that it is based on everything I've read on here and elsewhere, but I'd still rather ride it and see for myself before talking out of my ass), but B:TR is currently the only coaster in the park that I would imagine would qualify. Others have their moments**, and (sadly) three of the last four coasters that were removed would probably qualify, but Batman kicks your ass from the moment it leaves the lift hill until you hit the brakes. B&M got it right on their first try with the Inverted Coaster, and it has rightfully been cloned about a dozen times worldwide.
On a similar note;

Although 3 of those installations are SUF clones...
I get the feeling that this is sarcasm, but that's the point I'm trying to make- it's a bit like saying that China has bragging rights because they're one of the only places on earth where one could ride Vekoma SLC ripoffs by Golden Horse.
* This is typically reserved for "record breaking" roller coasters, but with the cheap trickery and multiple qualifiers many parks employ to market a "record breaker" nowadays (Coaster X is the tallest coaster in the world ...ehrm...the tallest coaster in the world that has bright red track, cerulean supports, and is located on the east coast of the US, that is)!!!!, park marketing departments should probably be altogether disregarded. They would market a new bathroom and some drinking fountains at you as some sort of "World's Only!!!".

People keep saying that Demon should go next and it never generates a line. So how come this ride is included in the Flash Pass? It obviously still gets lines.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
