Yeah SFGAdv's being painted yellow was known for a long time (who knew...since Tim Black was GM ).

I know that, i just thought it was interesting that they are getting the same colors that we are rumored to get, and it looks to me like they have to musch yellow in that one little area at sfgadv

First off, SFGAdv's looks god awful with half primer and half yellow will be painful to watch ours go through that :)

And at No Coaster Con Tim Black mentioned the old Blue Tinted Black Supports, but he was talking so fast about the track all I heard was Gray and Yellow. But he did mention the 3 colors, and that the process would begin in March. Also Demon will stay Black and he didnt say DV woudl be repainted, he said they were looking into a way to correct those spots (they simply wipe off, but they shouldnt be there in the first place).

I wouldn't be suprised if pretty soon all the B:TR's are yellow. After all, WBMWM's is the newest and it's yellow (well besides the used one from Japan), SFAW even PAINTED (yes SFAW) their Batman yellow.

Hey everyone, first time posting something so bear with me... Anywho, just got done talking with a friend of mine who has worked in the park for years and is the Sup of most areas within SFGAm. He said that Demon is getting a new paint job (black), Deja wasnt getting any paint job, and Batman would have yellow track with blue supports. I just want to clear the confusion.

Later everyone, and if someone could tell me how to make that awesome picture to the left of you post appear, i'd be very happy.

Thanks. I thought that's what they'd do with Batman. Somewhere in some rumor someone said everything would stay the same except for the rails, which would be painted yellow. But that didn't make much since. :?

Iron Wolf was repainted just a few years ago (Wintrodes High School Colors, BTW, Maroon and Yellow). I'm pretty sure DV isnt geting repainted, at NCC Tim Black said they'd look into what is causing those spots (they just wipe off), and they want to correct it (weather it involves new paint or not he didnt say), Demon needed it horribly, paint was peeling everywhere on the thing. Eagle still looks fairly decent after it's last paint job, maybe needs a power washing on the lifthill structure to get rid of the grease from a bullwheel incident and following lift chain replacement a few years back. Baman should look interesting though I really like it the way it is now the track spine really needs to be painted, in less visible areas of the ride, it looks alot like Chang does, though instead of gray steel, it's rather large patches of rust. Either way though I look forwards to seeing it in it's new colors, could be an improvement for all I know :)

Also as EVO'd mentioned, the paint will most definately slow down Batman til the wheels wear through it, as paint is much softer than the steel rails, works just like softer poly wheels on Bull instead of Nylon, way more friction = less speed, though it will be temporary. I remember riding Kong at SFMW about a week after it was repainted a few years back, I fully expected to leave the train via the local fire department and their cherry picker, it pratically stopped a few times during the ride, during the first inversion combo and their psuedo-Immelman, though I dont think it will be as severe on Batman as it has plenty of speed and momentum.

Yeah, but From what I've been told from many Knowledgable enthusiasts, is that you wont even be able to tell the difference on Batman

It's barely gonna make a difference at all, and if it does it won't really be noticable. And the wheels wear through the paint after 2 cycles (minimal sarcasm).

I do not want to see Batman a different color. BKF made the yellow and dark blue look good. I don't think any other coaster will look good. I saw SFGAdv's and the colors were horrible. I'm gonna scream if that catches on. Keep it rustic looking, it's Batman!

Too bad the only place you can see it from is barely on that hill outside the Grand Ave. gates and you can kind of see the lift and drop from 94, but you'd have to be the worlds biggest nerd to actually stop on the expressway to see yellow B:TR (sounds like something I would do ).

And coasterzak, they are trying to make their park look more presentable, and having rusted out coasters does not contribute, personally i'm not gonna complain with any new paint unless it's like Boomerang at Knotts new paint .

Papas,
Why would you want a nice bright Batman? The gray-ish black, dark blue rusty color looked awesome with the whole storm drain, crashed car, grafitti type look. Why break the theme and paint it yellow? I think it is a very poor decision.

That paint type of colors on Batman would look really bad, but I thought it actually looked really nice on Boomerang at Knotts and fit into the area pretty good as well.

I read it very carefully and don't understand what you think I misunderstood. I'm saying, why break the theme and go to a different color. You are saying it needs new paint. Are you also going to say that they need to clean up that messy grafitti off the walls, get someone to tow the crashed car and the firemen to fix the fire hydrant? It's all part of the theme and has only added to it over the years. Batman being that color is important. SFGAdv's was really looking extra rusted and many people actually liked it like that.

New paint is good for the ride....it does get a lot of wear and tear, and the sun constantly beating down on it, does a pretty good number....(see Cedar Point for example)

But does yellow really say "Batman"? To me it doesn't....but who knows it just might look nicer than you think.

While the rust really affected the theme by emphasizing it and made it look great.....it also made the park look lazy in a sense, by not painting it.
My choice would have been to repaint, BUT in the same color scheme.

By painting the ride, it will look nicer....not necessarily color-wise, but overall it will look better to the g.p. And that's pretty much all that matters.

The one problem I have with painting B:TR yellow is that V2 is right across the midway.....2 yellow suspended coasters right next to each other .

I was in the park today and they have new paint already on all the buildings in Hometown and batman is not painted yet, dejavu looks like it is, but you can really tell and no construction was visible. But the park looks really nice!

May I ask why you were in the park, if you don't mind answering? I don't think its a big deal Batman being yellow who cares its a great ride, now with it being yellow it will get even more attention because you can't miss a yellow coaster the size of Batman :).
