Why? What is wrong with who made the video? I tried to make it fun, sorry you are annoyed by me. May I ask what is the ridiculous part?

^^I know this is off-topic but since you brought up popcorn, oh my goodness Garretts Popcorn in Chicago is so good. The cheese, and the caramel corn, and I'm not even a huge fan of caramel corn popcorn, but they make it so good. If you haven't tried either of those flavors, go try it. Just plain awesomeness!

I agree, their popcorn is very good. And I do not even like popcorn that much.

So whos gonna make a trip out to the east and visit Iron Wolf next year?? Whats the new theme its getting if any? I wonder if its going to be smoother at its new location compared to how shaky it was here. I always wondered too: A stand up coaster...isnt that bad for your knees or joints? I mean i definitely feel pressure on my knees and legs when I rode IW.

NO! They took out Invertigo (Two-Face Flipside) & the Alpine Bobs at that park , their security and employees are ignorant to people obviously doing stuff wrong. Now, they also took out Skull Mountain which was one of the better flumes because of the hill - airtime. Jurassic Park for me is number 1, and Splash Mountain is number 2, but I would probably rank that as number 3 flume. And Iron Wolf is not that great of a ride. Out of the coasters I've been, sure it's still a good ride, but out of the good rides, it has to be towards the bottom. In my opinion, it's not the worst B&M. That would be Talon, or that Fire for Dueling Dragons ride, but it is the worst stand-up to me.

Six Flags America has to get something better than Iron Wolf to get me back there. Superman and Joker's Jinx are great rides at that park, but they aren't worth it to me to come back. Also, for Batwing and Joker's Jinx, I'll just go Kings Island, and Kings Island also has the Invertigo instead of stupid Six Flags America. Can I just say that Kings Island is very under-rated!! Sure, I do like how Joker's Jinx is run better at Six Flags America without the brake, but I understand why it's like that for Flight of Fear. Besides, the loading is different, Flight of Fear needs that brake because that ride is rougher because it's indoors, and you can't see where you are going compared to Joker's Jinx being outdoors.

____________________
People have said that the park kind of treated the enthusiasts kind of bad by forcing people to go in the line, and not stand in front of it. Honestly, I'll side with the park on this one. Here's why. It's because at closing time, what's going to happen is that honestly I think some enthusiasts could have started a fight with who gets to be last in line. So, by forcing them to go in line ahead of time, and not just wait around this eliminated people from being the very last in line. No, you go first. No, you go first. I'm not going anywhere until you go in line. This is just nonesense in my opinion. Who in the world cares if you were the last to ride it at Great America on the last train, but some people really do care, and I don't get it. Aren't you just happy you got to ride it again (during the entire day) before it closes. Does it have to be the very last ride of the night?

Pretentious much? And it looked like some people on the 2nd-to-last train never actually got off. If I was staff there I'd be a annoyed too.

On another note, I actually made it into that video. You can see me for about 1 second as I walk down the queue and behind the ride lockers.

Scratch that, I'm in there twice :S
The first time, I'm in the 3rd car of the train that's shown right at the beginning. My brother's the guy on the end.

I don't think I come off as pretentious. But you have your opinion. Can I ask what gives you that impression? I'm interested to know.

You're right, I was being a little too harsh, considering I don't even know you. I just came up with that word based on 2 sections of the video that seemed rude/pretentious. I would point out the exact spots, but I see you've removed the video (I didn't comment on it or even thumbs down it). The one part was where you take a shot at one of the ride ops for calling you out for something. Of course you made light of it, and that's cool, but really, they're just doing their job. And the other part was when you were bragging about how you were last in line. Sorry, your tone just got to me. (although I thought it was funny when the staff guy behind you said "No, actually I am." :P )

No problem Sporlo, I wasn't bragging I was last, I just wanted to get everyone there on video. If I was a true thoosie I would have re-rode the last three trains (empty seats were available) but I was more concerned with covering the occasion. *NAME WITHHELD* is the ride op, and we have become good friends actually. I try to have fun with the videos and be funny, I'm not about the facts and figures like some in the hobby. The video has become a fast favorite with the staff and the park. There is actually a new version of the video up, I added three photos and some sound effects that I had forgotten when I re-watched it. I'm just a wee bit anal. Again the crack about the ride-op was more an inside joke with Kelsey than any attempt to be malicious. Hope you can enjoy some other videos on the channel, and check out "In The Loop" on Monday nights on Blogtalkradio!!!! (about the amusement industry, Pete Owens from Dollywood is slated to stop by and talk Wing-rider action!!!)

Well well, I haven't posted much on this site for a very long time. But now I feel that I have to because two big changes are coming to Six Flags Great America.

1. Iron Wolf is being removed very soon. I am not sad, depressed, or even a little bit angry that Iron Wolf will not be a part of SFGA. I never had a great, or even good time on Iron Wolf, and that's because of one reason. In my opinion, it's one of the worst roller coasters at SFGA. The ride is so bumpy and not enjoyable, as most of you guys(and girls) would agree. Every time I went to the park I would just walk past the roller coaster, most likely not going on, but maybe once during a 10 hour day. The only reason I would go on it is to say I went on all the major roller coasters there. There is no joy to the ride, other than maybe that it's a roller coaster. Even though it's a rare roller coaster because it's a stand-up, it doesn't seem like it because the roller coaster is not fun. Go on Mantis at Cedar Point if you want to try out an enjoyable and exciting stand-up roller coaster. Simply said, bye Iron Wolf, and I won't miss you.

2. X-Flight will be arriving at Six Flags Great America in 2010! Wow, after so much speculation year after year about the possibility of a new roller coaster arriving, our prayers(or hopes) have been answered. As soon as I visited this website a week ago or so for the first time in a few months, I saw the big announcement. I finally thought "Yes, I have a new reason to go to SFGA!!! A new roller coaster, not just the same old, same old anymore." This excitement overwhelmed me. As I continued to read an article on this website about it, the only disappointment I had was the high speed of the roller coaster: 55mph. While it's not the high speed that many of us would hope for, it's still fast, comparatively. Look at Whizzer and The Dark Knight, with the high speeds considerably lower than X-Flight. Anything above 50mph, in my opinion, can be recognized as a contender, a contender of being the best roller coaster at SFGA. But the question remains...Will this roller coaster be a contender, or just another coaster that will eventually disappear, becoming another Iron Wolf? I don't think so. Why? Because it's a very cool concept, a flying coaster. It'll be exciting!
Six Flags Great America=GREATNESS! & THEN SOME!

Mantis an enjoyable ride. You have to be kidding me. Mantis is longer than IW which means you have more pain time. Second Mantis ride ops are always cranky and lock your seat way to far up. IW's didn't care.

More ridiculous than saying Mantis is much more enjoyable is someone saying Iron Wolf is better than Fire Dragon. I'll never take anyone's post seriously again when they say something like that! Lol

I'm sorry, but it's so much easier to bang your head time on Iron Wolf than Mantis. On Iron Wolf, I constantly have to move my head with the turns, and forward right after the corkscrew whereas Mantis, you don't have to constantly do that. Ok, I'm sorry for liking Mantis more for having more than 2 inversions on a steel roller coaster, and liking B&M train rather than an Intamin that was put on a B&M coaster.

They way I rank them is:
Riddler's Revenge > Mantis > Chang > Georgia Scorcher > Iron Wolf

For me not liking Fire, it has to do with it having 2 Immelmanns. That to me is not a good inversion. I know X-Flight is going to have one, but at least thank God it's not 2! Talon also has 1 of them, but if it would have more inversions, it would make up for it. It only has 3 + the Immelmann. To me, this is my opinion but Immelmann is the worst inversion on a coaster. It's like you are supposed to go upside down, but than it turns over right at the top. That Rip Ride Rocket non-inverting loop is sort of stupid too, and I hated that Batwing on Shockwave though the batwing on Montu is fun. Those 3 would be my top 3 bad "inversions".

I've never been a huge Iron Wolf fan, partly due to the pain, and partly because it replaced Z-Force, which I loved. Still, since it was leaving, I went down on Saturday last week to ride IW one last time, even though I normally can't stand it (no pun intended). Anyway, I actually had a GOOD ride on it! My son told me to hold on to the OTS harness at the top, putting my fingers betwwen the sides of my head and harness. Other than bumping my ear slightly on one turn, I didn't hurt my head at all, and had a real fun ride. My fingers kept my head from slamming into the harness, and it was actually was comfortable. It figures- I finally find out how to ride it without pain, and now it's too late!

I don't know.

I never had a problem with iron Wolf. You bend your kness, stick your head out of the supports.

My 8 year old even rode it no prob. I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea, and they could have fixed it to be smoother, but it wasn't hard to have fun on it.

Now if the ride operators would stop telling people to do the opposite and get hit, that would be a different story...
