Wait, there was water at River Rocker?? How long ago?

A very long time ago! I have some pictures I took in 1999 with the water around river rocker. I'll have to find them and upload them. But it's been well over 20 years since River rocker had it's water. They also used to have a really cool fountain right outside of strutters, but they removed that for a game stand

Six Flags always has suck charm out of the Park overtime :/ i think it got really bad in the 2000s/2010s
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

As far as Chang goes. I remember when I saw the original blueprints and it looked terrible. The lift hill was in the old go kart plot of land and the rest of it was literally going to cut right into the middle of entrance plaza. The placement was terrible

In my opinion (Remember just my opinion lol) This would have been a much better placement for the old Beemer. Having the lift hill run next to Superman towards entrance plaza and having the rest of the ride take up the bus parking. Just move the bus parking to that grassy area where the entrance sign is next to Grand Ave.

That looks like a perfect fit! It’s out of the way and it’ll look amazing from the entrance. I could definitely see the Hurricane Harbor entrance being place there now that the drop slides are out of business. It would personally look better with the entrances directly adjacent to each other.

Now that the rumors about Green Lantern being removed are heating up. I decided to make this just for the hell of it! Located in carousel plaza, The Aftershock new for 2026

That looks awesome. I can imagine the queue going under the drop, which would be an awesome visual. It’d also be a great investment since it would be near the front, so it would be one of the most-packed coasters every day.

I've seen the pond empty a few separate times this year, unfortunately it does not appear to signify work on the jets.

Nebulaz have horrid capacity. They are decent rides (exceeded my expectations) but I'd hope to see something with a higher throughput.

Why won't they? Unless your mistaking them with Mondial?

Tower is too iconic tho, plus having all 3 and creating a Tower challenge would be cool

Management possibly wouldn't after the whole Icon Park incident. (The drop tower was manufactured by Funtime.) If Funtime and Mondial are out though, who else can SF turn to for the same type of rides?

I legit flew to Newark last weekend & just did SFGAdv FF cause I didn't have Green Lantern. That shit better not come here. It can go to one of the smaller parks. We can get a new B&M. Again. It's not that I didn't like it, it was intense in some parts but it's old. We deserve something with much more life in it. Cause sure it'll be marketed new wherever it goes but, how much life does it have?

I am shocked we don't have the "Great American Skyscreamer" still. Really thought we'd have one by now.

Based on the parks push to not get a Dr D clone and get a new better Dive Coaster, I don’t think a relocated ride will come to our park. This isn’t JRA or Salim anymore.

John seems to have a good grasp on what works at our park and isn’t about the cheap low capacity crap.

I'm just glad they pushed the entrance forward and are expanding carousel plaza. That bus parking lot is the perfect spot for a mega looper. It was just damn near impossible to have an entrance/exit from Orleans place. Now they can easily do it from Carousel Plaza

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Superman. It's my favorite ride in the park. But it doesn't have that "WOW" factor that Shockwave had when pulling up to the park. That thing was a beast

I miss the separation of Carousel Plaza and Orleans Place but oh well.

I don't believe if a roller coaster comes to replace superman, it will go all the way out into the parking/bus lot. I think it's dumb for them to sacrifice more parking land right now, plus not sure how people in the area will approve more noise.

I also feel that they should use the bus plot for like a direct pace/Six Flags shuttle to and from one of the Metra stations, just so for anyone who dosen't want to drive all the way to Gurnee from Chicago

No need to sacrifice Superman or more parking spaces. Simply pave over this grassy area and make it the new bus/shuttle parking lot and use the current bus parking lot for a new coaster.

Miserable Karens complaining about noise is meaningless. They can complain all they want; the park has a right to build roller coasters on their own property. Some loser complaining about noise doesn't equate to a law

I agree totally. The same week the company merged he was here at our park with other Cedar Fair managers taking a look at things. They were spotted walking the park. I think and hope they know how great this park can be with a little TLC.

^^ JackGlass - How do you really feel about noisy neighbors and the noise?!

Also don't sell Superman short! That Pretzel is a nice sight to see at the entrance. I love your idea about using the grass area for parking to make room for a new coaster!

As for a Pace lot, how many people from Chicago actually would take a bus here?

 A few years ago in my town, there was a new apartment complex proposed on the site of an old banquet hall. The Karens came out of the woodwork clucking about it. Thankfully, the city council ignored all of them and granted the permits/zoning change.

Yes! That current bus parking lot would open a huge amount of space for a new coaster. It's about the same size if not larger than Superman's current plot of land

Now that they pushed the entrance of the park forward, it's easy to build an entrance/exit to a new coaster in the bus parking lot. I understand why Green lantern gets a lot of hate. It's because of those stand-up trains and bulky over the shoulder restraints that slam your head back and forth. I think it could be a great ride if it was converted to a floorless or sit down and received new age B&M trains like decepticoaster has.

Hypothetically speaking. Imagine how much raging bull would suck if it had those bulky over the shoulder restraints instead of lap bars. Those restraints really make a difference

That's not how I understood the Dr. D comments. I interpreted it as Dr. D was designed for our space, but the park decided (for whatever reason) to wait for something bigger and better, so SFFT ended up with it. Rather than getting a clone of Dr. D. I could very well be wrong.

I don't see Green Lantern coming to the park. Honestly not sure where everyone is getting that from.

It's all speculation, nothing more. But as far as why? The park lacks a high capacity looper. If it does in fact get removed from Great Adventure, relocating it to Great America would make sense because it was originally supposed to come here and 99.9% of the general public wouldn't know that it was a relocation or care for that matter. They would just see a large new roller coaster for the parks 50th anniversary which would sell more season passes and make more $ which is the entire point of the parks existence

Someone on these very forums said it was coming here, so that's where I got it from. However, the user later confirmed it was false and a joke.
