But no matter how many times you tell people to stand up straight, there will always be those people who get locked while sitting down. There's just no point in having 2 stations going.
That was cool but i don't expect to do that all the time. I mean on hot days if every ride did that every dispatch eventually you would get someone passing out cause of heat stroke
Got my last ride today. The marker board behind the op is kinda depressing! I was only 5 when this rough runner opened. Its a bittersweet end of an era (or error). Also, I got the blueprint for $13 something. All wolf stuff is 50% off plus whatever the season pass discount is. $13 well spent in my opinion! I wonder if they're gonna do a new coaster every year?
I rode it for the last (3) time(s) on August 20, and it was pretty sad to see the line be only about 12-16 people, with the whole line waiting for the front row. The ride op kept threatening that he wasn't allowed to send a train with only the front row filled. Eventually a couple people would creep up and take the other rows but it wasn't a sight I expected for a ride that would be gone in 2 weeks.
Luckily a good reason for the small lines was the huge storm in the morning, but after that the rest of the day was perfect and the lines only got smaller, not larger.

We got our last ride in today and bought the blueprint as well. I actually got a bit choked up while riding up the lift hill. I have been riding IW since it opened, when I was 14. I remember it when it was smooth and enjoyable. Taking a last ride 21 years later with my three daughters was a nice conclusion, and I had a moment. (Then my head started banging off the restraints, and I was okay with it leaving.)

I was pretty sad too... I'm almost bi-polar when it comes to riding Iron Wolf. Some of my friends think i'm crazy when I keep wanting to ride it the last time.
And the waterpark, the train, Sky Trek Tower, and who knows how many other water rides in the regular park will be open in September? Also, I don't know about Pictorium, so ride these rides this weekend because they might not be open in September, and most likely definitely not open in October.
If American Eagle goes down after the last weekend they are open in September (for the general public - You know they have private parties otherwise), that's really going to stink for Fright Fest. I don't really like the American Eagle, but that eats some people, and Iron Wolf eats some people. Than, no water rides /waterpark, no train, no Tower. Oh my goodness, this Fright Fest is going to be packed if both those coasters go down.

Got my two rides today front row no wait @ 7:30pm and then went last row with a employee. He has been working there 3 years and didn't know anything about new coasters of course.
^^ This seems kind of crazy, but I have heard the park wants Railroad open during Fright Fest. Odd though that they'd bring that back the year that there will be two large construction projects going on along (and in at least Wolf's case above) the tracks.
And American Eagle will definitely be open all season. Whatever may be going in Raceway/Splashwater Falls area will come much closer to Demon than Eagle (and before anyone gets any crazy ideas, Demon is not going anywhere, and will also stay open during Fright Fest).
^That's awesome to hear than. I definitely want a Halloween decorated Railroad again. I should have known because there are some kind of weird (maybe 2 wires) in the tunnel (near Demon tunnel, but this is the train tunnel). They used to hang up those ghosts with the moving arms in there.

The train ride should be like Necropolis. I haven never been on the train but it would be cool if scary people in costume pop out next to the train or are hiding in the trees and shadows. The train should have mini speakers playing eerie Halloween music and maybe some fog in certain areas. I really thing a haunted train ride would definitely bring more people in the park. Who wouldn't love that idea???!! But seriously I really wanted to Ride Iron Werewolf. I know its the same thing but whats the reasoning as to why the park couldn't wait until the end of the season to close Wolfie??

^^Wolf needs to close as soon as possible. Not only to move to another state but all the work that needs to get done on it prior to opening/construction. Paint, theme, trains?
^Eh, I think they could finish taking it down after October, and it still could be ready by next spring. The thing with building coasters, is that a lot of the work on steel coasters in which it takes time is actually the groundwork including land clearing (like trees), footers, and electrical. That stuff just seems to take forever and ever to finish. The track and supports don't start to be built until the late stages of the process. I think they are closing by the 5th to save some operation money plus due to low staffing.
I wouldn't be surprised if the supports and track aren't built at SFA until February. Everytime a coaster goes up, it's always oh people see a bunch of nothing, nothing, nothing going on, and than boom; supports and track seem to go up in such a fast pace. The nothing though is really something going on. How far do those footers even go down in the ground? I'm wondering are they really 10 feet in the ground?

I'm pretty sure the theme can be installed in one day by some people armed with zipties.
I never quite understood all of the hatred for Iron Wolf. I rode it when it first came out and rode it 7 times in a row with my 8 year old for his first time as he shouted "This is super awesome dad!" during the drop and loops a couple weeks back.
I mean sure, if you didn't situate yourself properly it could be a nut cruncher, but, if you bent your knees a little, and stuck your head out of the restraints a tad so as not to pinball betwixt them it is a helluva great ride, even all these years later.
I for one will miss it, and I'm glad my son got to ride it, but I wish it stuck around more.
MTA: Here's a picture of my son and I after his first ever riding of it. You can see the craziness in his eyes

Yeah I really think most of the complaints arise out of stupidity. It's a shame that pretty much the ONLY thing that makes it rough is the state of the trains. After we locked in, I started wiggling around, and sure enough the entire harness post could wobble literally INCHES. The trains are just old and loose. But everything else about the ride was pretty much as good as you could get.
Fortunately for me, my height gives me an advantage for almost all coaster harnesses, because my head can stick up above the shoulder holders, but honestly I don't think Wolf's harnesses were really that bad. Again I think it all has to do with the looseness of the posts. If you could fix THAT, then even short people would have considerably less head-banging.
